Why wireless?
I think a good pair of headphones, I have Sennheiser 485s, plus a recent desktop mic like a Logitech one will do the trick far better than any one piece solution.

I looked for such a product before for different reasons. When I go outside to smoke (I know I know) I miss all the TS info. Wireless headphones would only gime me incomming audio. Maybe a combination of wireless headphones and a cheap wireless karioke microphone would do, but still, no way to map out the "push to talk" key on the keyboard. I looked for some profesional product made for gamers but found nothing.
I did give a try to my homemade (redneck) contraption but the microfone wasted the batteries to quick.
I still believe the gaming comunity needs wireless headsets with 2 way audio and a function to map the "push to talk" key on the keyboard. It should also have a base and a rechargable battery.
The only bad thing would be ninja miners in low sec, mapping the push to talk key to a logoffkey subroutine and warping out at the first sound of trouble, me thinks. |

Yeah, I've been looking for a wireless headset myself, but up to this point only things I can find from the bigger suppliers are headphones.... a shame tho, I'm not a expert in wireless technology but it should not be that hard eh?
If anyone does find one plz let me ( and perhaps many others with me ) know.

Edited by: Maverick Brutor on 24/05/2007 11:06:39 yeah thing is I have such a device for my xbox 360... i cannot believe there is such a thing for it and not for the computer. It is rechargeable with an 8 hour battery supply. Are computers finally falling behind consoles?

I have a relatively simple bluetooth headset which i use for my phone as well as voip and vent on my PC. Just needs the addition of a bluetooth adapter if your PC does not have the functionality. I can talk for 13hrs and walk 10m from my desk without much trouble.

Using a cellphone headset for gaming... that's actually a very decent idea. Phone headsets are confortable and those with lights make you look sci-fi already. |

Aye, i have a flashing blue light on it making me look very scifi. Also, when i walk a bit too far from my desk ppl say i sound like in space like over radio connection because of the degraded bluetooth quality.

Does the microsoft pc wireless adapter for x box deevices work with the wireless headset? I'm pretty sure the wireless controller with a wired headset works... I think I saw a Stereo bluetooth hands free kit somewhere too...

I think someone will have decided to make one. It would need to connect to both the HQ audio and handsfree bluetooth services though but i doubt that's a problem.
Problem with bluetooth HQ audio thingies.... expensive ---sig--- Yes I just won the thread. Everyone can now start bowing down to me in an orderly fashion... SIG pic |
