Hey, I'm new here. I'm on a trial account, but I'll be signing up soon.
Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a "min-maxer". I understand that attributes only affect training times, but I'm curious about what Faction/Bloodline/Attribute placement/etc. that you would recommend for a player who wants to aim for piloting the big-rigs later on in the game. Capital ships and the like.
I've read up on the "optimal" training regimen for the Learning skills. Now I just need to know your opinions on which character build is best suited for the task at hand.
Again, my goal is to learn as many ships as I can and work my way up the skill tree so that one day I can be the chap in the Captain's seat of a frighteningly large starship.
Got some ideas?
Thanks to the community in advance. I've noticed people here are very helpful on the whole.

Maybe have Charisma as low as possible and balance the rest out. Just my opinion though.

The lowest Charisma I can get is 3. What would you say a good "balance" would be?

well sort of even them up = but dont worry if you endup with too much in perception or mem - TBH - even having charisma higher [becase of other choices - no need to add extra to it] will not hinder you too much.

Intelligence and perception as high as possible, after that willpower, then memory and last charisma...

All roughly equal, charisma a little lower. If you have to Perception and Memory just above the Willpower and Intelegence.
That way you have for the currently available skills the best spread of things though this is no garuntee for the future.

If you're going to be a combat pilot: Perception primary, Intelligence Secondary, willpower and memory after and charisma as low as possible unless you want to spend a lot of time in the leadership tree. The exception to that being Gallente where memory is obviously more important.

Dear CCP,
Once again, it seems that several of your employees have been up to no good. We'll get into the details a little later, but the highlights are quite juicy: CCP employees abusing their roles to join player corporations and give themselves director access, RP-events being rigged and what I really thought we were over, further fraternization between your employees and members of BoB and the subsequent cover-up. These latter two events actually stem from the same source, a former ISD member.
Let us begin with CCP Sharkbait joining the corporation "DarkStar 1" and giving himself director access. This was not preceded by a customer service request that would in any shape, way or form require a CCP employee to join the corporation. Less then one minute after joining the corporation, he added the role "Director" to himself, roughly fourteen minutes later, he leaves the corporation and surrenders the role.

Upon learning of this, corporate officers from DarkStar 1 immediately filed a petition in an effort to discover the reasons for this. This petition was promptly deleted and CCP Sharkbait would not respond to in-game conversations.
Why would a CCP Employee ever join a corporation without being asked to do so or any prior communication indicating that this would take place?
Why was the petition filed by officials from DarkStar 1 deleted with no response or reason?
The second part of this sordid story is best told "as is". Below I've included the account of one Raekhan, a former member of ISD. His story is two-fold and will encompass both the rigging of RP-events, as well as the fraternization between members of BoB and CCP and its cover-up.

Like stated above, make sure your attributes are not looking like a 'mountain'. Means you dont want something like this: 10, 10, 16, 8.
You will gain on highest as much as you will loose on lowest really. So Id suggest that combat character needs Perception/Willpower 1 point higher then Int/Mem, and industrial character needs the opposite, 1 point more in those.
Reason for it, that combat character will not encounter rank 10(for example), skills that he needs to train in Mechanic or Electronics areas, apart from maybe few capital ship ones. Means that high rank skills will be mostly on Gunnery/Spaceship field. Same goes the exactly opposite way for industrial, mining pilot wont train BS to V on the absolute must-do skill scheme. ---

Figure out what you want to do. Look at this list. Don't get too crazy because you'll be using most everything. Even Charisma, though you can "3" it moreso than any other attribute.
Drones: Memory - Perception
Electronics: Intelligence - Memory
Engineering: Intelligence - Memory
Gunnery: Gunnery is slightly different. Unlike the other skill areas Gunnery has skills which can be either perception or willpower as primary attribute and vice versa. Perception is probably more important however.
Industry: Memory - Intelligence
Leadership: Willpower - Charisma
Learning: Memory - Intelligence
Mechanic: Intelligence - Memory
Missile Launcher: Perception - Willpower
Navigation: Intelligence - Perception
Science: Intelligence - Memory
Social: Charisma - Intelligence
Spaceship Command: Perception - Willpower
Trade: Willpower - Charisma Phoenix Logistics Industries |
