Although my best efforts to discourage players from donating isk to the organization a player on his last day has donated all his worldly possession to our organization and wished us good luck. I'll make sure his assests get properly used to help new players as part of his last wishes including the isk donation.
Thank you very much,
Mayday Jones We will continue our tradition and carry out your last wish. =========

Edited by: Vactet on 15/06/2007 11:06:39 So stellar...question This restricted to only SWA folks? I clonejump to empire every so often to handle R&D Agents (Datacores..easy isk) and since id be stuck there for 24hrs, id have no problem throwing together a ceptor or dictor or AS and coming out with yall. I was brought up in this game by a bunch of older (beta) players so i got something alot of people dont..mentor. So yeh, teaching some cute little nublets some basics would be cool. Evemail me ingame and maybe we can set something up?
EDIT: Just read your latest post Stellar.. Ive got a few alts (Christ, i have 3 accounts ffs) and one of em can go around in my fav mode of pewpew...T1 Destroyer, i love me some wolfpacks. Seriously, contact me, might be up for that instructor thing and i might drag one of my mentors with me.

Our attempt is to remain politically neutral thus its the reasoning why we dont allow non New Player Corp members into the group to do operations. We keep political chat out of the channel and most FCs and instructors already have records on them of who/what allaince they belong or used to belong to. This helps us monitor operational behavorial patterns to see if there is any favortism amongst the commanders.
Just recently and FC changed locations for an operation due to allaince activity, the member has been confirmed be an alt of an anti-allaince character and the good reasoning why we arent bothering for the area was very unfair odds 100-200 war hardened with capitols pilots is not a fair fight for 50 odd low skilled newbies. This is an example of being fair, had the activity wasnt there the op would have continued.
Alt character in our group sometimes have thier mains in our channel to monitor and answer questions but we highly discrouage even those. However all the pilots with mains in the channel never roll out for operations in that character. To help preserve player neutrality. Or outsiders from drawing conclusions that Allaince B is making puppets out of newbie corps which I entriely refuse to see happen. We arent here to fight wars to be forgotten, we are here to train the next generation of eve players who may one day been greatful for our training as they shape the galaxy as they see fit.
We also currently deny the access to NPC Holding corps, as we cannot trust any of the characters there.
Agony Unleashed has trademarked the wolfpacks and thier advanced classes should be considerably thier territory. Eve University although I never attended is also another competitor we try not to steal ideas outside the nessecity basics. We teach the basic prinicipals and ideals behind PVP and we try to get enough on field experinces so student pilots. We have very few Instructors (both classroom and instructional) and Fleet Commanders (espeically the small group sqaud leaders) and still need help.
We welcome class room turtoring (perfect for the throw away alts that arent training) and hands on training (alts that are seriously training for pve or pvp combats aka mission runners.)
Ill be attending my first op this weekend in support of the rest of the group at an undisclosed location for our first wargame which hopefully I belive is a unique feature not taught at either school of pvp training (I cannot back up that claim). Ill definetly report about it when we get back from it.

had a blast tonight, first run into 0.0 alliance space for me, and i can definatly say it was worth it. We staked out our system, and lured in the Alliance members. We had a few smaller kills and also lost a little to several stealth bombers hanging arround, but the night ended on a high for everyone, with a Fleet of Morsus Mihi coming to defend thier space. what ensued was my first ever fleet vs fleet battle with about 25ish ships per side. We managed to pop a Megathron and a Thorax before sustaining our own losses. Definatly a LOT OF FUN!!! thanks guys for coming to fight us and i look forward to more fleet battles in future

Edited by: Anhtarus on 17/06/2007 05:40:20 Report: System Lockdown Operation Location: P3NE-E (0.0) Participants: State War Academy - Glory Fleet Time: 17/06/2007 02:00hrs
It was my first ever PVP op, here is my first hand account.
I was excited and nervous to be taking my main character with full set of +3 implants for such a risky operation. I hadn't met the requirements to access jump clones but what the heck, I thought. Things couldn't go that bad could it? It did...
I spent the day before shopping at Jita buying a spanking brand new Caracal class Caldari cruiser class missile boat for the SWA operation. She was a real beauty, virgin machine oil still glistening off the metallic hull with a fresh paint smell waffling inside the command bridge. I christened her the Noobita I, and took her back to my home base for a fitting.
I had accrued a vast collection of ship modules from my mission runs, so there was no shortages of parts to install on Noobita I. In the end, I decided to make her a heavy missiles boat with full shield tanking abilities giving her about 4.5k worth of shield buffers. That should give her some chance to warp off if things get too intense. Or so I thought....
She was still a combat virgin when I undocked her for our rendevous location in Oimmo. Her missile launcher tubes were untested and the armoured hull scratchless.
02:00hrs and the fleet assembled in the rendervous system. Oh what a sight it was, with 25 odd ships ranging from small frigates, to a few battle cruisers and even a Raven class battleship. I almost regretted not bringing a stronger ship, such as a Drake for a bit more firepower and tanking ability. With that much support and backup, maybe we wouldn't get too hurt in the upcming op, right?
Once most SWA members had arrived, each of us were assigned to specific squadrons and squad commanders were delegated. Yes, it was exciting for us to form up into our squads and briefed on what to do in the upcoming op.
Once ready, we were reeady to go lock down a system. Warp us in!!
Our FC did a superb job of co-ordinating our squads moving from gate to gate, system to system. Fleet movement was carried out according to strict military operating procedures. We followed our squad commanders as one and covered for those coming up behind. I was part of Squad 2 so were were nicely nieched in the middle of the fleet.

REPORT SWA PVP to CALDARI NAVY
SUBJECT SWA PVP Operation Egg Scramble (Fleet Warfare)
BODY
SWA Planned this operation for a week seeking a suitable system to be the practice of the target ground.
The scenario and purpose of the operation was to simulate as a hostile agressive force to lock down a system, we broke down into 3 squads 10 ships apeice, and a well mixed up group with various abilities.
This would be SWA first fleet simulation in a war like situation a normal system lockdown consist of captiols ships as well and bubbles, and usually last for weeks. Our objectives, was to hold the system for two hours and deny access then leaving.
We arrived at the targeted system without losses and began splitting the groups up.
One of our squads ran into a stealth bomber and the lack of reflex led to bomber's doom.
We attempted to hold the system however fast acting ships managed to escape our grasps every time, this further drive home the point for nessecary scramming and targeting skills. News of our presence began to spread and a nearby fleet curious what we where up to decided to test us.
Our Early warning scout observed the hostile fleet forming on one side of the gate blockaids setup. The order was quickly sent out to scramble our entire fleet to the gate that was about to receive the hostile fleet, the two squadrons quickly reassembeled on the third squadron just in time as the first hostile ship decloaked and engaged, indeed they indended to attack us. Thier numbers are in the 35+ ours was 30ish. The fight was intense and massive the 60+ ship battle was the largest fleet battle SWA PVP has ever participated in.
Masses of drones and missiles going back and forth losses on our side began stacking after the thorax was ravanged by the focused fire, our second target called out was a megathron and the its impressive tank failed it resulting in its destruction. Our last target to be called out before the comm systems got jammed up was a drake, the static on the comms began to make the students nervous as our wingmen where dropping left and right, the static faded and the order to retreat was given to the remaining ships.
Not many of our ships made it but many of the pods did, few ships did survive including our flagship A Raven Missile Battleship.
Our debrief was also very long and we looked at many things that didnt work out for us, the influx of new singals slowing our computers down was one definite issue and we are showing orus students how to optimize thier systems so they can respond faster. The lack of a sniper ship that could have prevented the elimination of several stealth bombers that assailed our forces smaller support ships. Needing the skills to anchor bubbles and equipping more scrammers and sensor boosters to enhance the intercept ability of our fleet.
This marked the largest and most expensive battle SWA PVP has ever performed to the point our comm channels where having issues, there's been talks about upgrading them to accomodate more pilots.
We also had our higest attendance today in our channel. We also are trying to recruit another FC instuctor who is a highly skilled in smaller operations involving one or two ships.
SWA PVP future as SWAs first legit PVP organization is looking bright and we hope to get more students in as we get older wiser and more capable. ========== END OF REPORT =========

0.4 system...
My heart rate increased and my breathing quickened. Squad 1 had jumped first, but reported minimal enemy activity.
So far so good.
I had heard Pirates usually abound in Low Sec systems, but they were not camping that 0.4 gate today. I doubt any small Pirate gang would have wanted to take on a full fleet of SWA ships. No, our path seemed clear, we headed off to the next system with great morale and high spirit.
One system out from 0.0 space and our target system, we encounted our first casualty. On the final warp jump, one of our straggling scout ships was ambushed by a cloaked stealthbomber.
My heart jumped a bit. This was getting a bit scary. But I was in a tanked cruiser, so no way I could be popped by a few cruise missiles in one volley like that poor scout frig.
We received orders from our FC to jump into our target system, and shoot anything not SWA-Glory fleet. I could almost feel Noobita vibrating with anticipation for any upcoming fight. The low huming of the shields almost souonded like the purrring of a cat in wait for prey. The missile bay was stocked,*****ed and ready to rock with any hostile we would encounter.
You are entering 0.0 space......
Squad 1 Jumped first. They immediately reported hostiles around the 0.0 gate.
"Boogey! Boogey! We have contact! Hostiles, 1, 2, 3...! Engaging!!!!!!" Our comm system was *****ling with excitement and reports by Squad Commanders.
Waiting on the other side of the gate, the adrenaline began to rush. Oh yeah, jump! jump! Jump baby and lets take these hostiles down.
By the time I appeared on the other side of the gate, the hostiles had retreated. Our fleet was orbiting the gate with no enemy in sight. Half dozen ship wrecks were floating around the gate, some containing lifeless frozen corps.
I wonder what happened here before we arrived? No matter, it was time to lock down the system. Any hostile trapped here will be scanned out in time or wait out until we left.
0.0 space. no NPC station in sight, only roid belts and moons. Great, how will I run if things get heaty?
Our squad was assigned to camp one of two gates within the system. Word began to spread that the stealth bomber that took out one of our scouts earlier was harrassing our lookouts from outside the system. Not a real threat, but annoying for our scouts indeed.
We camped the gates with not much things happening for about 20 minutes. A few boogeys managed to get past our gate camps but none tried to engage us. Then word came from Squad 1 was being harrased by NPC rats comprising of 2 Battle ships and 2 frigates. We were ordered in to help them out.
Oh yes, finally some action!
In thorugh the gate went Noobita I and I immediately targeted one of the enemy battle ships 56km off my starboard side. Oh yes, lets see what we can do. Noobita immediately spwed her entire rack explosive missiles. The rest of the 2 squads moved in to engage the NPC gang.
Boom! Boom! What the heck? The battleship had decided to counter attack me with her cruise missles. Boom! Boom! My 4k shields began to steadily drop. 90%...80%...70%...
Yikes, I begin to move towards the gate ready to jump out if my shield drop below 30%. By the time my shields was down to 40%, our 2 squad had managed to kill all NPC hostiles.
My hands was sweaty and I was excited. Ok, that wasnt too bad. We suffered no looses adn managed to beat back the enemy. Back we jumped to camp the other side of the gate after that entree.
The main dish was to come soon after.
I was glad Noobita I had drawn first blood. She was no longer a noobship. She had gone against a battleship, drawn blood and tasted sweet battle adn escaped unscathed.
An enemy stealth bomber began to harrass us once we retook our camping postion. It sat +100km off and popped a cruise missle every now and then. Annoying, but not ebnough to cause major damage to our squad. We were in the process of planning how to catch it when word came from our FC. " Enemy approachin

" Enemy fleet approaching from next system!"
Here comes trouble I thought. I was both excited for real combat, but also scared to think what would come next.
"How many ships?" someone asked.
"They got as many as we have. And big ships with firepower as well" came the reply from the scout.
"This is it boys, this is the battle you guys have been waiting for. We might be outgunned, but lets give them a bit of fun yes?" Yes, why not I thought. My adrenaline was flushing my system. We had a few ship that could do damage, so no worries. We began to warp individually towards the attacked jump gate.
By the time I reached the gate, the enemy fleet had begun to pour in. I had decided to orbit at 50km as I had the range to stay from afar. I couldn't make out enemy ships. There were no blinking red blips. Just grey ones. I remembered back to what our FC had said earlier. "Just shoot non gang coloured ships"
Alrighty, just lock any target and as many as possible right? I managed to lock 3 drakes and one Thorax that was being called a primary by our FC. 'Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" off went my missiles towards the hapeless Thorax. I didn't bother with the Drakes because I knew how undgodly ammount of shield tanks they had. If we are going to die, then atleast take down ships that can be killed.
The blobs forming at the gate began to swell. 4, 5, 6, 7... the enemy grey blips continued to increase in numbers. Then came the lag. Oh god, the lag began to play with my system. I had a hard time just locking any ship. So slow..dammit. And buggy. I managed to target a brutix next.
"I am into structure!" someone yelled. "Ahhh...boooom..." went another. "I am pounding the Megathron! hes going soon!" someone called. "They primaried my raven like nothing! I had no chance" and so the chatter went.
Ay, it was utterly chaos and mayhem!
Are we beating them? Are we holding them off?? I didn't know at that stage how the battle went. Glancing at the overview, I saw my gang mates go into red one by one.
Damn the lag, I can't see what is happening!!!! What the heck, I am being targeted by some?!!?!?
My shields began to drop...
"Thats it we are being outmatched, the SWA fleet is to retreat and make it back to safe space as best as they can!" came the order from our FC.
Crap, my screen is soooo laggy, I can't even get the warp button off. Warp dammit! warp dammit! Freeze............ 60% shields!.... Freeze................ 30% structure!!!!!!!! Oh sh*&*&%$@!, Noobita is biting the bullet here. Bye bye, it was nice having you for the 1 day.
Freeze.......... my pod is 70$ armour! Oh crapppppp!, nooo not my implants!!!!! Freeeeeeeze.........
I wake up in the vat clone back at Jita.....
BTW When is the next op???

Respect to all the SWA that fought valantly in this engagement. You stood your ground and fought bravely vs some of the best pilots in the game. You should be proud of yourselves and I hope your first taste of a real combat fleet fight will be something you remember for a long long time.
I am actually happy to see the SWA doing this and bringing a new fresh aspect of the game to the newer players. I hope everyone had fun, which is what this game is about.

You guys were awesome, and even though I lost my ship it was tons of fun. Glad you guys jumped in on top of us. I think had we had a little more experience we might have put up a better fight, but that's what these ops are all about: learning. You can sit and talk about PvP all day, but in the end it's the experience that teaches.

Overall, I'm quite pleased at how we performed against highly superior (and numerous) opponents, downing a Megathron and Thorax in the engagement itself, and a Manticore our Manticore hunted out earlier. Thanks guys! :)

OMFG....
I never really counted the number of enemy names in the overview. I was too busy trying to target the enemy ships.
I would have crapped my pants adn ran home to mommy if I had known actual enemy fleet number and ship type.
Well, if anything, we stood our grounds and got pwned like the noobs we were. Lol

Thanks for the support guys we couldn't have gone on without it. At first everyone's impession was the same about us in our corp channel as previous attempts, that we where a bunch of exploiters to take advantage of new players looking for meat sheilds for thier agendas or recruiting tools.
But as our Ops continued, our classes got scheduled, people actually learning a thing or two about the pvp, protection from corp recruiting and slowly erasing thier PVP jitters away we slowly started to become a respectable and trustworthy oragnization in the eyes of our own corp now which was the biggest hurdle to cross over. Now regulars in the corp chat often recommend to new players who want the pew pew to contact us. I'm getting daily eve mails on folks asking questions about what we do and how interested they are in it.
You guys posting to support us is helping us cross our next hurdel, which getting respected by the eve community.
I thank you all who posted in our support, I thank all the good sports out there for taking us seriously.
Thanks MM, Shiva, Razor and friends for bringing it. I probably would have been upset if you sent only 15 ships to deal with us instead of the more even numbers of 30.
I'm sorry to hear about the megathorn pilot and his TS fiasco though, he should have known the risk of pvp like our students had been taught and been cheering us on for managing that kill despite being out classed and outgunned. Still no smack from either side as far as I saw and good fight we expect to see more like this in the future and possible increasing our effecientcy as our students continue to learn. =========

CCP what these guys are doing is excellent.
Could the events teams focus on this sort of thing? giving people free motherships is GREAT but i think this helps eve more.
Perhaps helping this group to advance further and helping the other empires to start similar training groups (they would need to after all, they are starting at a technological disadvantage to the caldari)
So how bout it? lets see more forum posts, noob channel spamming by ISD volunteers and groups sprouting up on the edge of highsec not necessarily led by ISD but at least assisted in an organization sense.

The beauty of Eve is that its a sandbox. The players make the content. If people are willing to add something new then CCP should try to get behind them imo.

And we've finally got a character and a cause for people to send Donations to.
ISK, Ships, Whatever, are acceptable if you feel like helping out.
The character's name is- SWAG Tournament
The cause is pretty obvious, we're going to be holding some tournaments, and ISK/Ship Donations will go to various prizes for the tournament. We'll try our best to make the tournaments fairer than just "Experienced Alts get prizes" but there's the possibility that an Alt will win the tournament (although I hope most will give up the prize).
Also, I hope I linked that character's name correctly, if not I'll just repeat his name non-linked right now: SWAG Tournament
Right, any and all donations appreciated.
