I've given up trying to salvage these.
Since the first day of the previous patch: 12 Sansha missions - 1 melted cap console 4 Blood Raider missions - 0 melted caps 15 Rogue Drone missions - 0 melted caps
Before that patch, I could almost build 1 cap rig out of a single Blood or Rogue Drone mission. Screw it. Wastes time I could use killing rats and getting bounties.

I'm doing missions in ammar space now to try to get these MCC. But the best agent I have access to it's a lvl 3. So i'm working to get standings up with an ammar corp, doing level 1s now. This corp does have good lvl 4 agents in the area. I did one lvl 1 mission against Blod Raider and salvaged 2 MCC. 2 MCCs! on a lvl 1.
I will start lvl 2's later today, lets see how it goes. I will update. |

The drop is random, the only sure thing is that only certain factions drop them. If your not getting any / many you just have some bad luck. Suck it up and understand the universe just doesn't want you to win at Eve. ______________________________

And that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out: Where you can go to increase the odds of getting them. It was said that in gallente space you could not get any and that was a mistake. They *do* drop. Not in any usefull numbers anyway, but they do.
Then I found out on the forums that Blod Raiders and sanchas droped more and my few lvl 1 missions proved it was true.
There's no reason to suck it up just yet. The holy grail of the melted capacitor console shall be discovered and documented by yours trully.
When you were a noob, how many level 1 missions dropped 2 half a million items consistentlly? I say amar had their so awaited boost right there. |

Depends. I did the same mission back-to-back, with Sansha's. It was a low-Level IV and I got 7 in the first run through and 4 the second. I did a much tougher Blood Mission, and was thinking "Oh yeah" only to get just 2. I just got done with Level 4, Rogue Drone and didn't get one even though others report drops and I've gotten them at Level 3. Phoenix Logistics Industries |

IME L4 missions against Amarr are the best. They come from the Amarr BS mostly. On a typical mission, such as In the Midst of Deadspace I'll pick up 20 or more. the best I've seen from one mission has been 32. Sansha and Blood missions rarely drop more than 5 for something of the same length and difficulty. Industrialist Carebear, CEO Illudium Space Products: Where's the KABOOM!? |

It seems to be your agent. I (stupidly) started running missions for the Caldari Navy because I didn't know better. I don't get a lot of Blood/Sanshas compared to corpies who run missions for Amarr agents. Phoenix Logistics Industries |

However, you'll probably now have high Amarr standings as they share with Caldari, so you could switch to them without too much pain.

I think rigs are great- I'd like to use them on all my ships! I'm also interested in efficiency, so here's my guide to salvaging for top ISK:
1. Buy Survey and Salvaging skill 2. Buy a Salvager mod or two 3. Trash the above items 4. Run a few extra missions instead of taking the time to salvage and then buy the rig you want. 5. To get more expensive rigs, run some more missions, collect far more bounties, get more storyline missions and sell the +4 implants and 60 million ISK connections books.
Disclaimer- I fully understand that if everyone played this way there'd be no components around to build rigs!

I looted 23 of these last night from Pirate Invasion lvl 4 sansha. The mission was tough as I got full agro from a ton of bs and cruisers, but when I checked my salvage I was very happy.

I'm going to start running for Viziam soon, I think. But I need to get my Ishukone (research agent) standings up. The "stupid" part was not understanding that you can get faction ships from ANY corp of the faction, not just the Navy...

Sounds like I either need a second account to salvage while I run the missions, or I need to just stop producing my own rigs and buy everything I need from the market.
I really think we need to encourage things like salvaging, mining, and looting. They don't create isk from thin air--thus they do not lead to inflation. Bounties and mission payouts do create inflation, and nerfing cap consoles is a step in the wrong direction.

If you're intentionally trying to farm a specific item then you're already failing.
It's far more efficient to farm for ISK and to buy what you need.

But if I'm a mission runner doing lvl 4 missions, if far more efficient to do them where the salvage is not crap. I will still get the ISK, the bounties, the rewards. the crapy loot *PLUS* the profitable MCC. :) |

I think they should be rare and I don't mind having to work for them. Why should every mission drop 10 million worth of capacitor consoles?
I can only solo level 3 missions right now due to low SP (although I have enough standing to use every single agent in the Gallente Navy). But I still salvage every mission because even the Serpentis rats drop such a mass of the cheap stuff that it works out for me. You always need a lot more of the tripped/charred/fried circuits anyway. After all, if you add up the cost of a CCC rig, half the cost comes from the MCC's and the other half comes from the tripped circuits.
The way I see it, looting and salvaging the Serpentis wrecks is my mining. I get a ton of cheap items that add up to a fair amount. It's not sexy, it's not glamorous, but it's worth my time. It's also more consistent than only looting/salvaging the mercenary/EoM wrecks in the hopes of picking up another Arbalest Heavy Missile launcher.
If you are looking for them in Gallente Space, the best source for them is actually a Level 2 mission, Human Cattle Part 5. With 3 people in 1-2 month old accounts, you can kill everything in this mission, collect 13+ million in tags, a ton of good loot and enough salvage to build about 1 CCC rig with a lot left over. For whatever reason, one of our new guys working his way up got this mission five times in three days. We ended up building six CCC rigs out of the lot. ------------------------------------------------ FT Diomedes - That ship looks like one of those centipede things from that game, what's it called?
