So, I've finally gotten most of the ships I wanted to pvp with, all of them minmatar. However, I always have to spend more time than I like ratting to fund pvp. I was told caldari had better ratting ships, with the tengu being one of the best. Thing is, I don't know much about caldari, T3 cruisers, or missiles in general.
So, I'm looking for a skill plan. I suppose it would be best to just start as a new character so other people can use it and cut out what they already have. Basically, I'm looking for the skills to competently fly a drake, and then competently fly a Tengu, and then perfectly fly a Tengu.
Thanks for any plans/tips you can give! |

I'd say go for the Tengu. It's quiet a bit more effective then the Drake.
Basicly go for subsystems V, tech II heavy missiles and heavy missile support skills at IV. Considering you are Minmatar I assume you have decent shield, capacitor and navigation skills. With these skills you should be good to go - subs at IV will work too, but they are fast to train and give a large boost. |

For the PvE Tengu, the offensive and defensive subs are the priority to get to V; the others are OK to leave at IV until everything else is done. Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

Well I was hoping to start it off as a fresh character. Basically I'm just looking for a skill plan to get in a competent drake, and then a competent Tengu, and then a perfect Tengu. |

Blank character will require most skills anyway. To fly PVE tengu you won't need to train drones, electronic warfare and most gunnery (except WU and AWU). I need new signature. |

It depends where you're ratting,
If you have all minmatar skills, hurricanes, sleipnirs and ofcourse the machariel do pretty ok. |

a blank char? ...
Map blank char for Int + Wis
Train cybernetics 4, plug in +4 implants...
Quickly train the basic shield and engineering skills to 4.
Remap to Perception and Willpower
Plug in Perc en Will +4 implants
Train caldari cruiser and BC to 4.
go for missles and its support skills (dont forget WU and AWU)
This should get you started. After this go for cruiser 5, Caldari Strat cruiser 1 (any further is nonsense) and do the Offensive subsystem to 5.
After this it's a matter of priority whether you remap back to accomodate the Int based skills or keep focussing on Perception based skills. |

Skill sheet
Tengu (and only Tengu) pilot example...mission runner so you could lose the social skills and pick up cloaking n stuff for a 0.0 ratter, but basically the core skills you will need. Am training everything to level V myself but you are fine with IV for many skills... |

The 6 month estimate is probably pretty well on the mark.
100ish days for perfect Heavies 20ish days for the sub skills 30ish for cruiser V Some Nav Some Shields
This blank character.. It's a seperate account ? right ? Because these are good skills to have on any main. No reason to split skills on the same account.

Put ship fit in eft first.
Let it tell you all skills needed to fly.
Take all the skills needed to max out the tengu and put it in evemon.
Optimize the list with your remaps and get to training. |

I have monster missile and caldari skills, and im going to where you are for my ratting skills. The mach are vargur are widly accepted as the best ratting ships in the game. Go that route. Oh, and tengu is good, just remember it has to use kinetic missiles to be effective.
Yes, I complain about things I don't like. |
