Edited by: PartyVaN on 06/06/2007 17:51:01 Just wondered if the frigate skill resist bonuses for AFs (ie Hawk gets bonus to Shield and Armor Ken & Therm Resist per caldari frig skill) is added to the already high racial resists? And if so, like what final resists would a Hawk/Harpy have with just skills (ie Frig V).
Im considering training mechanic V just to use these for ratting (taking my raven out to regions with bounty rats it too scary). Can either of these tank a triple BS spawn (vrs guristas?)? I can use T2 small rails/blasters as well as t2 rockets/lights, which will be better for PvE?

the will work for ratting but it wont be fast. and as long as you dont stay still the wont hit you hard anyway. just get in and orbit at 1km. Playing minmatar is "like going down a flight of stairs in a office chair firing an Uzi". |

Edited by: Ryysa on 06/06/2007 17:56:35 The bonus is built in already. Make sure you fit MWD for ninjaratting, so you can get out if you jump into some camp :)
Regarding damage, I'd go with a blaster harpy, it should deal more damage than hawk (I think).
With rail harpy you won't have enough dps to break most tanks.

AF will easily tank triple BS spawns, they will barley hit you. If your taking on BS spawns you want to stick with blasters, they do the most DPS and nothing else will break their tank.

I find small rails/blasters to work better than std missiles/rockets in pve. My gunnery skills are a lot better than my missile skills, though.
BTW, I'd recommend a BC over an AF for ratting in 0.0. BC's are often good enough without being that expensive when you get jumped by , and you can insure most of your investment.

all my skills are really invested in frigs and frig weapons (all i would have on a BC would be a t2 tank). Im also wondering if standard blaster harpy setups usually have enough CPU left for a proto cloak?

I fit mine with rails and AB and do plexes. I'm not sure about a mwd blaster fit -- it'd depend a lot on the rest of your setup whether you had 30 spare cpu. |

I was thinking more like an A-type AB - I have very nice Nav skills so I dunno if I need a MWD. cloak would help more for evading gatecamps.

Normal cloak doesn't help at all if you run into competent gatecamps. Your speed is reduced to almost nil, and any ceptor or fast ship with half a clue on how to play the game will decloak you.
MWD is what will save you, not the AB or cloak, forget the AB and use MWD.
