Greetings capsuleers of the Providence region, allow me to introduce myself; Arion Black, recent graduate fromt he Federal Navy Academy and aspiring salvager and deep space wreckage remover at your service. Following the reports of a huge conflict bewtween the forces of Ushra'khan and the CVA alliance (and each sides numerous allies) I would be willing to operate in providence and clean up after your battles and of course return the spoils to the victors at a very small price in return for my services. However, Regardless as to who chooses to hire me (or does not choose) I would ask that I am personally set to positive standings to avoid fire upon a neutral pilot. Thankyou. Arion Black. ---------------- Need an area cleaned up after a large space battle ? Contact Arion Black, Freelance salvage pilot. ---------------- |

CVA operates under a NRDS (not red - don't shoot) policy, so you are free to visit Providence at your leisure. Well, you still have to watch out for the odd pirate on the way but in general its very safe.
Besides: Single pilots cant receive personal standings, only corps can. --------------------------------------------------

Arion, while every pilot is responsible for his/her own safety in Providence The CVA does take it as an insult when a pirate has the audacity to ply his trade in our sovereign space.
Accordinly, if able, we will gladly try and assist you if you come under attack.

I understand that I must be responsible for my own safety, however I beleive that there may be pirates who would make it their business specifically to hunt me, should they have scouts, for example. In any case, The support is much welcomed, and I thank you for it. ---------------- Need an area cleaned up after a large space battle ? Not to strike a blow to your ego or your efforts Mr. Black, but I doubt very much that pirates will specifically target you. They make their business with fish worth frying. However should you grow your profession into a profit making corporation, then you may be worth hanging on the weigh scale so-to-speak. Otherwise you'll be attacked as a random target of opportunity, if found.
If aggressed however you will have the aid of the upstanding locals, such as the CVA, FANG Alliance, North Star Confederation, and perhaps to a lesser degree, NOS.
Enjoy your stay in Providence, the weather is fine and so are the Amarrian women (if not a little uptight.)

Most of the "action" in Providence is on the Kheram-Misaba pipe. If you're up by Inflatable House, you'll probably find more wrecks than you've got cargo space to salvage. At the same time, a lotta people feel rather proprietary about their personal vehicles and the remains thereof.
Of course, you can always ask, sometimes they do let you have at the remains, and I've salvaged some SWEET stuff after a gate camp bust up in 9UY (muchas gracias, CVA & IAC for the privilege).
As to someone "hiring" you to retrieve their stuff, usually if they lose it, whomever popped them is likely walking away with it. Or if they're in a gang, one of their corpmates will grab the stuff for them. I've only managed to recover one of my wrecks after being popped with help from Sylph, and even then, I only got the surviving 350mm railguns back. The only repayment I could offer was to alert one of their members out ratting after the fight that there was a True Sansha spawn in the belt where I died.
Its an interesting offer you make, but the reality is, it will be a damned rare opportunity for you to carry out the service...

I would recomend going in only frigates with warp stabs so the random pirate won't be able to lock you down. I made a pretty penny doing just that up north however I was also regulary flagged because looting someone elses wreck alows them to open fire on you for looting their hardware.
It would not be cost effective for you to salvage and return goods so what I would recomend is alerting people you are salvaging the area and getting set 'blue' for as many corps and alliances as you can.
Use a fast frigate with cargo space and a micro warp and perhaps enertial stabs for fast warping incase you are trapped by a gate camp.
Cruisers might not be cost effective, you should plan to lose ships in prov. what with all the fighting going on.
Other than concords sanctions on salvaging i think its a good profession. Good luck! --------------------------------- "Trust me I've done this before." Elite R. Ephesianos ---------------------------------

If only that advice had come sooner. My excursion into providence is now on hold, after suffering the loss of my cruiser to a capsuleer by the name of 'Monkeyking1'. The attack was entireley unprovoked and appeared to have no motive tother than 'Pirate Smash'. So Until sometime next month. UK does just like CVA NRDS, so no standing change will be necessary. If you salvage something with a UK stamp on it and i.e. deliver it to the the enemy - then a standing change will be considered.
Try to stay neutral, a beaten wolf can still bite.

Just wanted to clarify that when he initially expressed his interest in moving into nullsec, that he was given a rundown of what to expect out there. We try to train the academy graduates just a bit...
But a month to replace a cruiser? Hrm. I seem to be lax in my duties.

I salvaged for frigate money and ran missions with cruisers and destroyers. Running missions in a frigate unless you are using smart bombs is a pain.
Go to low sec not 0.0 and make runs at salvage. If you got yourself a ship with a couple of tractor beams then traveling in something heavy could be done. If you took a hauler and supped the puppy up for moving azz instead of cargo room you could have a lot of cargo and just keep moving.
The only thing is you want be in a bad area to actually leave empty and dock full with a cargo load worthy of the ship you are risking.
Remember, you take anything from a can and your azz is somebodies by concord law. So don't think you are doing anyone a favor, salvaging is a thankless, cold hearted, souless mistress.

Ushra'Khan operate the same sort of NRDS that CVA does.
To the salvager, just have good manners when you ask ratters in a system whether you can salvage or not.

That's also a pretty solid way of getting yourself added to the KOS list. Ask FFFY how they're doing now that some of their members have resigned from their corporation and scattered to empire corporations in an effort to evade the consequences of their behavior.

you should join sylph, odessa operations to be exact. we let you do your own thing, and leave plenty of wrecks in teh belts. drakmore is our senior diplomat, i am sure you can work out a good agreement with him that would benefit us both should you choose to remain neutral to this conflict (pfft, what conflict, its over man)

Depends on where you work. There's a lot of action, but its really not as widespread as you imagine. This region's got a couple nice blind alleys to slip into if you want to play patty cake with the Sanshas uninterrupted.

Mmm sadly one must choose which group of rabid dogs to side with before venturing into that region, unless you know how to run or don't mind paying a small fee for the services of bodyguards. Perhaps you can request protection (For a good fee) from some pirates in Providence, and a chance to make an easy buck? Of course you'd need to pay half and half, for an escort back to high-sec ensuring your safety rather than a broen deal, but that would seem the easonable path so long as you find enough to profit. Or if all else fails you can join the S.W.Academy on one of our gate-camp raids.
