I'm currently ratting Sansha's in my Deimos.
I'm using the following setup:
High: 5x neutron II, 1x Tractor Med: 1x MWD, 2x Cap recharger II Low: 2x EM Hardener II, 1x Thermal Hardener II, 2x MFS II, 1x SARII
and hammerhead II's.
But it's not going all that smooth. Tbh I'm a bit disappointed with it as it stands. Does anyone have any idea's to improve this?

Ion's and a medium rep comes to mind. Also, fit a webber put a couple of cap rigs on it.

Just a thought, but isn't Kinetic/Thermal the wrong damage type to be killing Sanshas? I'd get a Ishtar and use 5 damage specific heavy drones. Also, lose the MWD, it's not needed to catch rats and stick a web on instead.

I've heard Turtle Wax for cars is good for polishing epeens like yours. Remember not to use to much.

But it has got the agility needed to get out before you catch and scramble him, which is even better.

No it really doesnt.
Anyway: to help the original poster.
The problems is twofold the first is that you are fitting an MWD. An afterbuner will make it a bit painful to get close to the battleships, but once you are, it will be cake with the high transversal.
You might also want to drop down to ion blasters, in order to fit a web, and up that sar into an MAR.

2 neutron II 3 ion II small nos (?)
MWD web recharger
MAR II EM II thermal II 3x MFS II
5x hammerhead II
but I'd switch over to an ishtar with small pulse lasers and an MWD if I were you.

5x Heavy Neutron II, 1x Salvager I 10MN MWD II, Web II, Warp Disrupt II MAR II, True Sansha RCU, EANM II, 3x MFS II 2x CCC Rigs 5x Hammerhead II
1x 5% Med Blaster implant
Use antimatter or void and you'll rip through sanshas like a hot knife through butter (even the dual beast lord spawns orbitting at 1km - who cares about their resists?!?)...Salvage only the BS, and collect only the decent loot, as you've got a small cargobay (no smarties, cap booster charges etc). You should earn roughly 30 mil/hour (including loot) on average if undisturbed even more with Void (the quicker kills makes up for the extra cost).
Run from everything that looks like PVP. You're able to do 'support PVP' warping in on a friendly being attacked (by a cruiser or frig) is ok with this setup. But if you're not VERY careful/selective, you'll lose the ship quickly.

I think cap becomes a problem with that setup. Or am I wrong? With 1 EANM and no AB for transverse you will get hit a lot, which is np if you have decent resists. But without resists that MAR will run quite a lot. I do like to fit a MAR, but I just don't see how I could get it to run at an acceptable amount of time. Cap on Deimos is just so poor.. I don't think I can get away with not fitting CCC's.
I rat in a deimos because I think the ship looks sexy and because I have a lot more gunnery skills then I have drone skills. Further more, I don't rat with hostiles in local, that would be a bit dumbish. Also, thanks for the replies so far, some are useful!

Yesterday in catch someone asked me for a 1vs1 against my pilgrim in a deimos. I reminded myself why I sold my deimos.

If he can not get into a SS before you get to him, then he is sleeping or AFK. In that case, it does not matter which ship he is in.

I've had no issues tanking or with cap...unless i have to close 70km through belts bumping roids on a 3 cruiser and 2 bs spawn...the rest are easy - just orbit the BS at 1km and they cant track you making tanking easy.

Hm, i have a Deimos too and to be honest: you don't need to fit it for PvE. You can just as well use the PvP-fitting to kill belt spawns. Didn't ever do it in Sansha space, but i think it applies there too. Might be tough in Angel and Drone space though. Of course using void/null makes ratting a bit expensive, so you might want to at least change ammo before ratting in it.
