I didn't know where to put this, so since Rev 2 is coming up I decided this might be a good place.
Have any of you fine devs thought about not just looking at what is required to make boosters but balance between the boosters themselves? It seems to me that certain boosters very much see more use than the others, namely the tanking boosters Blue Pill and Exile, along with X-Instinct (speed) and perhaps Frentix (optimal range). I've been trying to involve myself in the combat booster community for a while now and it seems boosters like Mindflood (poor capacitor bonus also on the tanking slot "1"), Drop (decent tracking bonus but not of a whole lot of use), and Sooth Sayer (poor falloff bonus) are actually rather horrid in comparison to the others.
For instance, Mindflood might increase your tanking longivity but Pill/Exile does the same thing, by letting you either tank against more damage or not hit your rep as much. Sooth Sayer gives a Barrage using Vagabond another super useful 1.5km falloff range. Surely you kind of get where I'm coming from.
I was just wondering if there were any plans to revisit how the effects and side effects of these boosters?

i believe the next round are actually attribute boosters rather than combat. Time based 4 hour +6 yo +10 on skills

There is an ongoing project to improve all things booster. In Revelations 2.0, the gas cloud harvester module will be seeded at pirate faction stations and we have increased the chance of reaction and booster bpc drop under the ethos of making the logistics of manufacture easier. The next phase will likely see some of the near empire 0.0 regions getting some gas cloud distribution. There is ongoing internal discussions on balancing the bonuses of boosters. We are happy currently with the side-effects and new bonuses have been tabled which already involve the more in-demand bonuses being less than the lower demand types.

Are there even gas clouds in low sec empire? If not how about some love for the non territory holding inclined.

CCP, i live in a booster constallation and you do know why nobody is producing them on the market ? ITs darn to complicate, so they are that expensive that nobody will pay the price for one shoot.
Lets look what all is to do to get a booster ( which then only can be selled on some stations in o.o)
1. Find a Gas Cloud Aprox Time used 20 mins.
2. Mine the Gas Cloud ( tanked battelship prefered as cloud does damage) Time about 100 min for 1000 Units gas ( about 20 boosters)
3. Scan a special complex and do the run for the Booster BPC and Reactions about 60 min ( scanning and doing the plex).
4. Build a Pos with Chemical Reactors special Silos and bring the Gas there.
5. Bring the intermeidate to a 0.0 station and to the Booster production.
Thats only for the STandard Boosters, to make the "better" ones you have to mine a sec gas and need more incrediants in Pos Production.
So we are looking on about 3 hours work to produce about 20 standard Boosters. And this 3 Hours arent sitting in a belt chatting with your friends.
To get a meaningfull outcome ( same as mining or mission running). You will have to sell this boosters between 3 - 5 mill. ( Standard boosters.
So the typical combat pilot is looking a booster hmm 4 mill for one shoot ? no way as + there are the side effects.
So Seeding the gas harvester wont don anything to the booster market as once you have them ( they are easly to find when you know where to look) you an mine all the day.
Seeding Gas clouds near Empire, sure go ahaead people will chear mine and after 1 week stop again as they see nobody is buying there gas for a resonable price.
Solutions: Either: Change the Process of making booster ( very difficult) Or Change the duration of the boosters (to one day) Or increase the amount of booster you can produce from x amount of gas.

are you also one of the tools who complains that moon mining is too complicated? you really dont like to have to work for anything do you?

with very difficult i did mean that CHANGE the running system is hard.
Not that the Process is to difficult.
I also think that its okay with this many steps between. So you can each step makde from an other player.
The Problem is that not enough Boosters are produced with the time involved.

its not the complexity of producing them. its the time to get the products that makes them extremly expensive so nobody would buy them with their sideeffects
easyest way would be do increase bpc runs or drop rate (reactions drop way to much)
at the moment u get like 150 standart runs for like 2-4 hours doing and finding the plex (sig strenght decreased?!?) in the end you spend like a day working for these, then compare this would you would get with normal mining in that time and calculate the prize you would need to sell them

Agree that it's not rewarding enough to produce boosters. Imho this could be changed by reducing the needed gas amount per booster. That would be the only solution needed, as everything else works fine for a well trained and maybe specialised team.
(and you need a team to do the Hidden Arc Site and Zero Radarwhatsoever Plex. Scan time is not a major problem. Nor the amount of bpc or reactions you get from the plex. But either reduce needed gas amount, or increase the gas amount you get from mining. Oh, and where is the specialized exhumer for this task, btw^^)
Balancing the boosters itself is a different issue. Afaik for example the exile booster is way too strong on certain ship types and ship fittings... -----------------

u need at max 1 mate more for the plexes. if at all... dunno what u have with the mining amount.. i dont know where to get with all the gas (and reactions) i got.. the only thing thats consuming my time is to find the damn bpcs and additional skills so that ppl dont have to care for the side effects
since 1 month or so its even harder do find the bpc plexes.. (i think cause of farming the other loot)... ggrrr
im not sure if your exhumer could tank the 3k dmg from just 1 miner
