The OP is generally one of the following:
Bitter because thier alliance/corp lost to a better alliance/corp
Sat in empire all day reading COAD and forming opinions about things they know nothing about
Doesn't have the skill or commitment to do something so blames the "tools"
Is a goon alt
All of the above
I have to agree most of these threads get on my nerves as well, but....
I have never been a member of a Alliance and I have been playing since Beta. So who is winning and lossing between BoB and Eve doesn't really matter to me. Unfortunately it does affect my PERSONAL game play and that does bother me PERSONALLY. Not enough to quit, whine on the forums, or request a nerf but it is annoying as hell.
I have been to 0.0 back in the day when if you went far enough out there no one would waste time come out to bother you. Hell I have even been to Jovian space before they cut off clones being able to spawn there. Now the problem is not being in 0.0 it's getting in with your equipment and getting back out to sell your loot/ore.
I have good skills, good equipment, and I lost more then one girlfriend over my commitment to "Eve Time" over them. The "tools" are not the problem per se, it's the enviroment. There are not enough ways out to 0.0, to many damn bottlenecks that are easily camped and blocked. Should we nerf gatecamping, HELL NO!! Should there be fewer bottlenecks and more ways into 0.0 space HELL YES!!
I'm not a Goon Alt myself and I always post with my main, feel free to check my history.
I don't agree with the OP completely, but at the same time something has to change for those of us that don't want to be a part of an Alliance. I remember back in the day when you could pay a toll to get thru a Alliance's border to enjoy 0.0. Now that doesn't happen anymore unless you know someone personally in that particular alliance. I remember when there were Merc corps you could pay to escort you to 0.0 and even provided coverage for mining ops. Now if you ain't part of one of the big bad alliances you really can't have any fun outside Empire. I say this for the general part time player not the hard core players.
Just my 2 cents, flame on

This is wrong. Alliances have existed informally since game launch. Even those informal alliances put conquest and terrritorial control on their agenda from day one.
B.
You can't turn back the clock. Remove alliances and people will do what they do today without them. Remove pos and people will whine untill something else is introduced that replaces their functionality. And most of all....
C.
Yes, player empires in 0.0 have been the goal from the beginning. It is the way in which the daily life of people in those empires should look that has been devloped step by step. The intention to have players form factions at empire level has been CCP's since forever.

Purely out of interest, which bit of 0.0 do you live in OP? I've lived in 0.0 for a long while, and it's never been very safe for me.
What with constant Triumvirate raids before the war, and then the massive and bloody invasion of the north during the war (which is still raging as we type), it was pretty far from "tame". I suppose BoB renters probably have a pretty peaceful time of it, but that doesn't mean that most of 0.0 isn't the same as it's always been. --------

These features have steadily been introduced and have allowed 0.0 to be tamed from what it was meant to be into what is essentially a player run version of empire.
Given the current feeling amongst EvE online players (BoB win EvE) have CCP by introducing these features essentially made it possible for someone to "win" Eve?
I would like to see a return to corporations only, no POSes or outposts. Introduce another way of building capital ships by all means but I think the mechanics that exist go against one of the things that is the essence of EvE:
"Skillpoints arent anything, a young player can beat an old player due to the learning system."
whilst this axiom remains true a young player can no longer lay a claim to the rich space outside empire thus severly limiting the game experience.
roll it back CCP.
I'd just like to say that our corp has several players less than a month old, and they've all been to 0.0 and they're highly valued and appreciated.

Set a goal and work for it. Pack enough punch and bring your friends. Its only matter of time.
Or, do you think that BoB has just existed in 0.0 forever? (If you said yes, you'v been listening too much goon propaganda) ___________________________________ ///////////// Because people keep stealing my sigs, I'm gonna fill this with gibberish. asgn÷aoeng÷kjean÷gkjnsdfkjgnlskdjfglksjdfglksjdgk sdlkfgnlskdjfgl÷ksjdg |
