There is alot of T2 Blueprints for sale on sale forum at the moment. Is there some kind of rumor that CCP will "nerf" them or what is the deal with this ? |

CCP remove Tech 2 BPO? Blueprints? ehm no I don't see that happening, next you'll be wanting a Dram nerf.
Rule 1 of eve: If it's broken it stays broken.
Tech 2 BPO's are here to stay lest EVE's bitter vets and old school corps rage quit. Their secret is that they are only powerfull because CCP keeps giving them hand outs like TECH II BPO in a magical lottery that was completely ''Random''. |

Another reason to have T2 BPOs. So you can panic sell them at a loss when you really need to.

Maybe you are right, but the situation described (lot of T2 BPO are being sold) isn't related to your thesis. |

The best thing you can do if you own a T2 BPO is to sell it. People are spending ridiculous amounts of ISK for them. Even if you have trillions of ISK there are still better ways to invest your money than buying T2 BPOs.
LetGÇÖs assume it was indeed unfair to have a T2 BPO lottery. In this case the unfair advantage gained by the winners would not be compensated by removing T2 BPOs now. The value was created when the lottery took place. Every intelligent winner already finished cashing in on it by selling the respective BPOs. |

I've heard that T2 production profits are tightening. T2 BPO owners may have decided that their manufacturing slots are better suited elsewhere. Since the BPOs are not being used, they might as well sell them.
This is just guesswork and hearsay on my part, though. |

Manufacturing profits are always under attack. It's the nature of the beast that when you find a profitable market segment, you either keep quiet or everyone else will swarm to it and drive the margin downward. At which point, you do a bit of research and find a different item to make which makes more ISK/week/slot.
(The only real nerf that CCP could do would be to streamline Invention's UI, or maybe let the T1 BPC ME/PE level influence the T2 BPC level during the invention step, without needing a decryptor. Or by increasing the drop rate on decryptors so that they are less expensive and more likely to be used.)
But material prices are up. Datacore prices are generally up. POS fuel costs were up. Demand for T2 items was probably down a bit due to the holidays. Which means lower margins until units made with cheaper materials get sopped up by market demand. |

I think it might have something to do with CCP stating that they were going to revisit old features and rationalize them. Invention arrived before the LP store. Now that we have the LP store and T3 I have to question why you can't buy T2 BPs/BPCs for LPs. While I don't seriously think CCP will change this, if I had a 100B T2 BPO that was currently producing <10B/Year, I'd be very tempted to sell it to a collector. Also, Ra Death is getting out of T2 production and is selling a bunch of BPOs. |

Last I checked, the role of LP stores was to sell implants and selected faction modules and ships. Even the few BPCs they sell are for modules and ships also sold in the LP store. Any sort of BPO doesn't fit the scheme, especially T2 BPOs. And as I see it, if they're selling T2 BPCs, they should be selling the T2 goods themselves. But how's that going to be priced compared to their usual lineup? T2 goods generally sell for a lot less than LP store gear does.
Now, I could see the point of selling faction modules that are improvements of T2 gear instead of t1 gear. Turn in boatload of LP, isk, and a zealot and get a shiny. That sort of thing is feasible, but it wouldn't do what you apparently want, to undermine the current T2 system of manufacture, which I might add, already works just fine.

T2 BPO's have collector/status value. They are selling FAR beyond their actual economic value because of this.
If I had a stack of T2 BPO's I would sell them all in an instant and put that MASSIVE amount of ISK to far better/profitable use. Never make eye contact with someone while eating a banana. |

They also have the "lazy" value. Because you can just queue up 7 or 30 days worth of manufacturing, then walk away for 7 or 30 days. Which beats the current click-fest that is T2 invention.
(If the various dialogs in the Sci & Ind window would remember things like "range", "last used meta item", "last used decryptor", "last used output division" - it wouldn't be so bad. It would only take 7 clicks to start additional invention jobs of the same item instead of 13-17.)

T2 BPO owners make huge profits per run. But they can't do many runs. In fact, they can fill exactly 1 manufacturing slot.
It's a better investment than a Supercap BPO, but then, what isn't? |

t2 bpos are just vanity items now, you'd need a few years just to achieve ROI if you buy one.
I once sold (to a buy order) a few absolutely worthless items called 'skillbook astronautical engineering' for around 2 billion each. sure people do pay isk for those things, but does it means they are worth something? no.. the same happens with t2 bpos. it's just the collectors items.
and if you still want to argue, please at least once, give an example of the overpowered isk printing machine bpo that you are complaining about. so that we could laugh together. |

Eh... even with a ME 50 T2 BPO, that one costs about 1801k to make. A T2 BPC with -4 ME costs 1816k to make (not very different), plus 161k invention costs per item. They sell for less then 1.8M each (1650k-1750k), so even the T2 BPO owner is losing money by making those. The inventor just loses more.
(Not having to do the invention step is the main advantage a T2 BPO has over inventors. Sometimes that -4 ME matters, but mostly it doesn't. ) |

good example of a vanity item.
jita market volume is 80 items per day, profit from me40, pe40 bpo is -1.7 mil per day per slot using buy prices.
assuming you would be given this bpo, what would you do with it? what kind of profit are you going to make and how exactly? |

I guess its possibility that CCP might be doing something about the T2 BPO's at last - but I would not hold my breath over it.
They DO seem to be staring at many of the long dead horses at the moment wondering if they should do anything about it though. |
