It may be 3 years late but you are not forgotten by the oldest players like me.
EVE-I was the best at that time, thank to you.

Dancer I salute you!
Eve-I IMHO was better than Eve-Online, it didn't go down as often, you could search the forums, it had the best database of items ever and it had a great sense of humor.
Good luck for the future Dancer in whatever you do.
I know its a lot of work to maintain but I think it would be worth the effort to restablish the site, update the database and continue a tradition. Lets hope a team can be put together to resurrect this great resource and pay tribute to Dancer's efforts in the best possible way. Good Hunting

Now why did you do that? I had FINALLY recovered from the loss of eve-i
Now I am all depressed again... I guess I'll be grieving for another 3 years...
Ok, really tho... thanks for a site that was 100% awesome 100% of the time. As others have said, so many great members of that site and some EPIC threads (yes R1kk1 U comic pie newb!).
All will be missed and will hopefully not be brought back. Why? 'Cuz you can never relive your first time experience. I don't want to get my hopes up for a redone site and then have it spoil the awesome memories. RIP Eve-i! Please don't make a necrosite by trying to bring it back.
Thanks Dancer!

Dancer,
Thanks for letting us know that all is well for you once again. It's odd to think of the empty feeling the disappearance of a game fansite could cause, but it really was a beautiful creation. The right database at the right time, with a forum of amazing community contributions without (at least as I remember it now) any garbage inputs. I'd say Eve-I was not only the best-ever Eve-related website, but the best fansite I've seen of any kind. Kudos to everyone who contributed.
Thanks for leaving Eve-I now as the wonderful memory it has become. Fly safe!

Hey Dancer ole pal - we were really worried about you! Ole Latta is still about but since Eve-I went down my will to play also waned - Eve I was my passion and I missed knowing everything about everyone!
I was also struck by a bad case of real life early 2006 when my business took off... I traded 16 hour play days for 16 hour work days and just could not give the game or our corp the time it needed.
My account is still active and I log in now and then, you still have my email addy Dancer?
Thanks for everything that you did for us! Thanks for letting us know that you are still walking amongst us! Good luck with the future matey!

A shame it wont have a comeback. Damn i loved that site. Eve had and has many fansites with very useful content. The difference is that eve-i had pretty much everything useful on one single site alltogether. If i wanna get useful info now i gotta work myself through 30 eve bookmarks and find the site that has the info i want.

RL certainly trumps Eve, but for what it's worth, I just want to say thanks for eve-i. I would use your site literally daily. In fact, other than to download the client, I never even bothered with CCP's Eve site as long as yours was up and running. It was extremely well done and you should be proud. Hopefully your using those skills in some rl business venture which is making you tons of isk, ahem, I mean money.

How fondly I remember EVE-I, and how much I miss it. The tools were great, but Dancer is right: what really made the difference was the discussions. As time went by, EVE-O has gone worse and worse in terms of content and usability, and even SHC (which is the closest we get to EVE-I nowadays in terms of useful content on fora) is leagues behind.
Of course it was a smaller, and possibly less childish community back then, and it was all before the various 'cheatgates', and there's no going back.
Still, I can't help but compare, and remember discussions on EVE-I where pirates and carebears were willing and able to discuss game balance and ways to make EVE a good game for *everyone* involved.
Tip of the hat to all who made EVE-I and EVE such a great place, it was good while it lasted.
--- Using "that's how it is in real life" to make your point when discussing EVE design and features is a good way to prove your clone is broken... trekkie.

Danser,
Good to see things are going well for you and that you are still walking the Earth with us. It is understandable when something heavy hits you and you just need to focus on that 100%.
Eve-I was the best, and I would log into eve-i before i would log into eve, just to make sure i was up on everything. Also the dev chats that latta hosted, i made sure i was at every one of them.
I miss eve-i as well as everyone else here. Glad to see that you are okay.
As for Latta ;) You all want to check out next weeks Eve-Tribune. I sat down and interviewed him... :)

No apologies necessary Mr D, I'm just thankful I was around to witness the birth and growth of what I still view as the best eve fan site to have been created.
I hope whatever happened in the past to change your life is now allowing you to enjoy yourself and that whatever you do in the future will keep you safe and happy.

I came into Eve-I right towards the end since it was just as my character was born. I didn't get to use it very much before it vanished into the mist but even I miss it now.
Somebody please resurrect that shiny piece of gold in a sea of brass and let us have back some of what we lost.

(uh... found this thread while looking for some rookie's question about for EVE item db.)
Just like to say thanks for the site - my only ever start of thread post was: "Is eve-i down for maint?" - short reply was "Yes." :D
Thank you for the site, which was the start of EVE for me - even before trial, since friend just pasted some links to start looking into.
Best luck and success with what ever you are doing nowadays.

Dancer, thank you for Eve-I. It was the place that introduced me to eve. All the fine guides of Easy Target, the R1ck1 trollings and not to forget how I discovered M.Corp.
I'd wish you could lease out the license for eve-i to someone. The portal, the forum and the database still could live up to be the best even if it was reintroduced now.
You all will be missed. Eve hasnt been the same without you. :)

EVE-I was the only eve forum i used, wasnt a massively active member but it was always a more mature and flameless forum than EVE-O was and still is.
I remember waiting for weeks hoping EVE-I would come back, glad to hear your life is back on track Dancer
