Yep, I am the guy that just started playing a game that came out years ago...
I really want to ask some nooby questions...lets see...
What are some really good sites to find info on missions, ships, and different ship set ups?
Hrmm...lets see...
Any suggestions on ship control during battle? I have been doing the whole "keep at range" or "orbit" thing...but man...sometimes it seems I am just sitting there getting hammered...and unless I am at the bar thats not a good thing necessarily.
So...for all you folks that like to laugh at the noob, here I am...for all you folks that like handing down suggestions to noobs THEN laughing at them...here I am.
So, if anyone has "I wish I knew this then" type suggestions, let her rip.

a good site to see what the NPC shield and armour weaknesses are, as well as what damage they do to you.

http://home.broadpark.no/~tijohann/eve/missions/ works for me. Also check out the other sections of these forums, which have lots of setup info.
For ship control, it's a bit of an art, but once you have the right fitting survival gets easier. Try not to let a pile of enemies get all over you.

Thanks alot, will check that out.
Yeah...after losing 3 stinking slashers to a gang of like 7 pirates, I started to go in, kill one, flee, return, kill, etc.
Here is a specific question....I get all the fittings for weapons, booster type stuff, etc....but what can I put in the "hardpoints" upgrade slots?
Thanks again for the link.

I expect you are refering to the Rig slots at the bottom of the fitting screen. These take Rigs. With current market conditions they are not worth fitting on a frigate, especially if you are still losing your ship often.

Here is a "Wish I'd known that" tip: When doing missions, keep your Local chat channel open and visible. Sometimes the NPC rats will talk to you, adding to the storyline.
More importantly, you'll often get information about what is going on like...
"It's a trap! Get out of here immediately!" "More Guristas are warping in to assist their brothers in defense of the outpost."
Hope this helps a bit, and happy hunting!

You should always have local open. Drag it away so it is seperate from your other chat channels. It is your best early warning system in low sec & 0.0
