Originally by: Catalyseur Hey, I read a few pages and I'm sorry if this has been addressed already.
I'm using a Palm Centro Palm OS 5.x by Sprint. I've got the program installed and it loads up just fine. I copy and past the API into the box. "521:Invalid username and/or password passed to UserData.LoginWebUser()." I've tried this on all of my accounts, and I did use the Copy and Paste so it should be the exact API.
Any Ideas?
Thanks - Catalyseur -
According to CCP they messed up somewhere: 5xx: internal error (we did something bad)

Although 521 isn't listed, I would suggest you try it later or file a bug report. -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Hmm. Then I'm completely lost on how to install this program. I've downloaded both the JAR and JAD files, but did not see an option to extract either of 'em.
I've tried to load them through the application manager for the Blackberry, but I have not been able to make anything work. Idk, I'm completely lost... --

The JAD and JAR files are there for OTA installation.
If you want to install it using the BB application manager (or what ever its called) then you'll need the contents of emsp-local-bb-install.zip. -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Oh ok. And apparently OTA is "over-the-air"? I'm sorry to be a complete pain, but do you have a small writeup on how to go about doing an OTA installation? Even just a couple sentences to get me started? The blackberry application manager doesn't recognize the other files when I extract them, so I'm not sure what else to do. Thanks for all of your help. --

Edited by: XD2 on 02/12/2008 19:08:10 Hi everyone. I'm just returning to the game and wanted to put this on my Blackberry. I did an OTA install fine, but when I tried to Load my character info I got the error that said:
unexpected result java tunnel failed
I don't know if this will help anyone else, but the following link helped me: Blackberry Support Forums
YMMV of course.
And for the record I have an 8320 running v4.5.0.81
Edit: Jaabaa, thanks for putting out a terrific app!

Load "http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/emsp.jad" in your BB browser and it should ask if you want to install the application (well, thats how it works on normal phones).

AFAIK the ALX file should be some kind of application definition file for the BB app, I don't have one though so maybe someone here can help you on how to do a local install. -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Edited by: Jullliana on 03/12/2008 19:30:23 I've downloaded and installed using the OTA installation on my BB Storm. I've entered my API details and set up my preference sin Options.
When I select Import, nothing happens - no messages, no network traffic, nothing.
My only worry is that the Storm may not support MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 (and I've no way of checking).
Any ideas why this doesn't work? Thanks.
Ok so I was in the wrong place trying to import the details. Now getting authentication error so i'm off to check th details I entered

Worked like a charm on my Asus P535 running Windows Mobile 6 and Esmertec MIDP stack. Calendar integration works fine, timezone is compensated.
Awesome utility, I've been looking forward to one for a long time! Kudos to the author! Excellent job!

The UserId is your account number, you can get it here: http://myeve.eve-online.com/api/
Right, I know where to get the information for the api, my problem is I cant put the userID into the program. It doesnt let me type the information into that field. The other three fields are typable, just not the userid field.

I just tested this app on my Sony Ericsson W850i and I really like it, good job Jaabaa!
Suggestions
- Can we get an option to show time left until skill finishes (count down) under the "training" screen? (Like evemon).
- Maybe I have missed this, but a way to update all accounts in 1 click.
Keep up the good work.

Edited by: Viral Tempest on 08/12/2008 03:21:29 This application doesn't seem to run properly on the Samsung Rant, even though the phone supports MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1. Instead of the nifty welcome screen, I'm presented with a grayed out EVE logo and the picture of Jaabaa, with a message in red at the bottom that cuts off, which says something about loading your characters. I'm unsure as to if this is a program limitation, or a discrepancy with the phone's hardware. Any ideas on how I can get this working?
Almost forgot to mention, button presses have no effect, and I'm not given any options along the lines of menus or data entry fields. All I get is the screen mentioned above.

Ah, so what I'm seeing here is that my phone is displaying part of the text at the very bottom, centering the background on my screen, and doing nothing else. My phone's screen is 176 x 220 pixels, and can be rotated sideways by opening the sliding keyboard. I'm not sure if the screen size is a factor, but that's the only guess I have as to what is causing my issues.
Edit: If it helps any, you can also find specs on my phone by looking up Samsung M540, since that's the actual model number, and not the flashy title.

It looks like your phone's J2ME implementation is returning weird information regarding the screen size.

With you mentioning that my phone's J2ME is "returning" information about my screen size, I'd assume it's safe to say that the screen size is read into variables in EMSP. If this is correct, would it be possible for me to perhaps build a modified version to use a fixed resolution instead of reading the screen size through J2ME?

Correct. It wont.
But if you use the trackball you can scroll left and right to go back and forward through the menu (for most parts that is).
Also, tried 3.4.4 upgrade and the BB said it was going to keep the data but I had to reenter the userapi/key. Thank goodness you can paste the API key from an email!
Also, if you only enter a Limited API key and dont add the Full API key it will produce an Java error when you load the data... It still works fine, just an FYI.... Regards,

Yes, the J2ME implementation is queried about the screen size, etc..
