I've seen mention on the forums and in patch notes (I think) of named versions of the Ice Harvesting and Mining upgrades. They increase yeild above the T1 versions, at a reduced drawback of CPU penalties, etc...
But I've yet to see them on the market, on contract, or mentioned since the patch. Aparently they drop from NPCs, but no one seems to know which one.
You guys have any ideas? ----------------------------------------------

Try typing "mining upgrade" in the chat window - highlight it -> rightclick -> create link to item type. You should find the following mining upgrades: Erin / Elara / Carpo and Aoede mining upgrade... Quiestion remains: Where can one find them?

My thoughts exactly. They seem to be in the database, however the don't appear (I don't think) when you show all in the market window... and there are no variations on the T1 info window.
Anyone running an ORE agent see these in the LP store? ----------------------------------------------

They also have a "mining amount multiplier" in their attributes, in addition to a "mining amount bonus", which is in the mining laser upgrade I.

Yeah
For anyone curious, type: "Aoede Mining Upgrade I" (without quotes) in any chat window, then select it, right click, and auto link. Click the link to showingfo on it.
That's the best-named MLU, and it's preety rediculos.
Anyways, could we have some clarification form CCP to weather these are in the game but insanely rare, or they were scrapped at the last moment?

Yeah, I too would like a dev response on whether these items are supposed to be available.
The best ice miner upgrade gives a 25% reduction in cycle time.
I'm sure those ppl with lots of stations to fuel would love a couple of those. My bet is they sell for more than a Machariel

Yeah, I'm with everyone else. These things may be rare (cosmos, perhaps) drops, but I would very much like to know if they are in game. Or, are the devs teasing us by putting the database entry in there, but never planning to release the module :) -----------------------------------------------

BTW. With "only" 25% percent bonus (I don't even consider anything less than Aoede/Ingenii), one laser on hulk will mine (max) 2579m per cycle. With 3 strips it's only 263 meters for spare crystals and ore from drones. Bye bye synchronized strips or BOOST TEH HULK!
No, seriously, additional 2k or even 1k would be very handy.

Edited by: Lord Loom on 30/06/2007 03:55:17 5 crystals, only works if you intend to mine no more than 2 different types of ore
then again, dunno why the hulk should be immune to the issue that already plagues the lesser barges if you fit the highest-end mining equipment on them

Slap some Cargo Rigs on. If you're ready to drop the dime for those upgrades (and let's face it...they are going to be bloody expensive) then rigs should be an easy pill to swallow.

BTW: What is the Mining Amount Multiplier? You can see it in this screenshot of the various modules (not on the basic MLU).

I've looked on the test server, and the Mining Amount Multiplier no longer exists on the upgrades. So the rock mining upgrades give 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25% more ore.
However the ice mining upgrades have been reduced to -20, -16, -12, -8 and -5%
Still nice upgrades :-)
I'll bet whoever finds out how to get them is keeping their mouths shut, and scoring big bucks. ----- http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online ----- Top wishes: - No daily downtime - Faster training on sisi - Updated data export - Speedup IGB table rendering |

I already have agility rigs, and since they're the difference between having hulk or having killmail...
