I recently started my alt off doing missions. He has been doing missions for the Caldari Navy for about a week now and still only has a standing of 0.29. For level 2 agents I need 1.10 Standing. Every level 1 mission he does he gets either a 0.0 gain or 0.1 gain. From when I did missions I didn't think I had to do 200 level 1 missions in order to get a level 2 agent.
Any advise how I can get level 2 agents quick? Someone told me they practically missed level 1 missions (they did 5 missions) then they started on level 2's.

Its pretty standard i thought to take that long going from level 1 to level 2. I think the agents standing helps too, if they're 10.0 standing with you, then you'll get more company standing, but i'm not 100% sure.

True and doing the missions in a lower security system helps as well.
So higher the agent quality and lower the system security = a higher standing gain. That has been my experience atleast and I am running missions constantly so I can have perfect refines throughout all high sec. ---- Why donĘt you show us on the dolly where the bad miner touched you. -Thesas ---- THE NERF BAT COMETH! Doesn't seem worth it. Gives you 4% increas per level. I currently have 0.3 standing so it will hardly make a difference ---------------- If You Can't Kill It, Slap It! The Man Who Runs Will Fight Again

It's calculated in a different way: not 4% of 0.3, it's 4% of the difference between your current standing and the maximum. So at level 5 it would give you 20% of (10-0.3) = nearly 2 standing points. It is very much worth having to level 3-4.

Ditto on the Connections skill. I thought the same thing, until someone explained it to me.
If you have 0.0 standing with a new corp, and do one little mission that brings it up to say 0.05, Connections level 4 will give you effective standing around 1.6. Basically it gives you level 2 missions right away.

Ooh this is really great to know. I was hesitant to get one of these skills, but now I'm sold.
