From past experience, would it be wise to backup the cache folder? Just ctrl drag a copy of, and let the thing patch. After patch, overwrite it back?
Or is that not advisable as the patched client won't work with the old cache?
TIA.

I realy cant believe all the whining going on here..
Do you want everything fixed at once? if so - wait a few months. For now, let CCP fix what they are able to and give them a break.
If any one of you can claim to be a better programmer than the team at CCP apply for a job with them and see what happens. My guess is no-one will apply, as its far to easy to moan about other people doing the job as best they can.

Patch can be downloaded after the server is back up, since client will auto-patch itself. -- V.H.

From past experience, back-up the whole EVE :D
But since Rev.2 the cache and settings are in some different folder, I'd just backup that folder (Disclaimer: yes, I'm using XP and the /end /lua:off trick, so I'm not sure where the new files are exactly).
If settings don't work after patch, get the settings backups back, try if things works. Or, wait for full client, and copy settings over it. Or, in worst case, redo all settings (BTDT).

Amen! A skill queue would make me flip for joy and promise to pay forever and ever to play and would eliminate any hassling issues of skill training or training mid-length skills! No to mention save bandwidth in areas where people log in and out just to change skill and then logout or just stayafk for hours and hours! Please CCP.... I pay you don't I?

3 - Caldari ships will continue to be nerfed and turn to be only PvE ships? Decreasing recharge rate of shields to all BC was not what I can call "balance" if only Caldary rely exclusively on shields... or you think you nerfed Ammar BC too? Manticore had that lots of drawbacks (Sig Radius, Cargo Space, Velocity, etc) just because was the only one that could fit 3 lauchers... How do you suppose to bring Caldari pilots to PvP (and I believe is more than 50% of the playerbase) if the ships they fly are not suited to and at each patch/expansion they become even more useless to PvP. BTW, some more nerf on EW?
I'm sure CCP will be satisfied after making some anti-missile laser defence to shoot down all missiles you just launched, also I think things that prevent shield boosting are needed.
Btw for me these "addons" or "expansions" look more like patches. Didn't find a lot of new things. __________________________________________________

The rent ran out on the station office (stupid i know ) so i went and paid this. About a day later i then delivered the lab job. The BPO just vanished....not in hangar, not in deliveries, not in pos.
It was not isolated as well (i have a petition up now for about 4days with no response). Today i delivered the next job and again the bpo has dissapeared!!
Anyone know whats going on here and when will it be fixed!
Have you looked under inpunded?

Yepp, me too wants this to be looked at, I can hardly see and have to turn and twist the view around until I can see whats on and off..
Also it should be possible to make the right hand side with all your buttons, wrecks etc. not click-trough, it`s annoying to again turn and twist the view so you can click the think you want and not anything on your viewscreen thats hidden behind it.

Patience.
The official end time of the patch is 3pm UTC, which is in 2,5 hrs. :)
Most likely they are at the moment having limited-login mode, since CCP wants to test the patch out before letting you guys (to ****-up your client if the patch is messed-up.)
After the test are done, EVE will accept log-ins again . Then get the patch, or let the client auto-patch itself. -- V.H.

UTC and GMT are the same thing.. UTC was the US designation for it cos they didnt want to call it GMT for some reason.
London is currently on BST so the patch should end in about 1hr 15 mins or so.

GMT is the time above your post and 3pm GMT = +1hour + 1Daylight saving, meaning its 5pm CET.
UK currently has BST which is GMT +1.
GMT does NOT have daylight saving there for in the summer its now +2 and +1 at winter time.
YAAAR!
So be patient and wait another hour and 15 minutes.

That's lame. Why are they forcing everyone to get the patch on startup? By not making it available for download as soon as they had a finalised version, they are going to cause Massive server loads (not necessarily on their own servers depending on how they have it set up, but on the hubs that they/we seem to be having issues with on connectivity) because as people all start to download at the same time and jump in game as soon as they can, those routes are going to have to support a data surge from people doing both at once, after all HOW many people run multiple clients that have to be patched separately? Would be much faster if the patch went up on the site as soon as they decided on a final install for it.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the delay in announcing the patch was intentional to try and promote Eve TV during the downtime.

Edited by: amagonsan on 03/07/2007 14:01:05 Patch comes from a diffrent server (unless my info is incorrect) and does not affect TQ when so many people are downloading it. Besides, this is how it was done in the past, and it always worked well..
Edit: and why do you wanna patch seperately? what a waist, when one client has downloaded the patch, the patch is stored in one of the eve directory's simply installing that on another client is enough.

I dont doubt that CCP has their own server issues figured out... I was referring to the threads about disconnections that are tracing consistently to a hub( or hubs) a few jumps out from CCP's servers. I have several corp mates that are still experiencing these issues, so I know they havent been fixed yet. I dont know if there is anything CCP CAN do if a hub is dropping EVE traffic on a regular basis. (heh.. talk about inner conspiracy theorists.. mine goes wild over that one)

Just wait guys. It will be up soon enough. Just give them some time. I'm a programer myself and I know that things go wrong all the time. Specially when you are dealing with an MMO as complex as this one.
