First, a big sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, and an even bigger sorry if this question has already been answered (my Google-fu didn't come up with much)
But why are there so few high quality level 4 combat agents for the Caldari Navy? The lag in Motsu makes the game unplayable at times - even after these latest patches. (It's worth nothing that sometimes its fine (like last night, when it was great) but most of the time (like tonight) its completely unplayable). 10 years ago I used to think that Quake 1 on dialup was laggy, but this is out of control.
The question that leads off from that main question for me is: is it only Navy corporations that give you faction battleship offers? If not, then I'll just move off to another corporation, but its really annoying that it means I lose the 100k+ LP I've got with Caldari Navy (which I was obviously using to get towards a CNR) and I'll have to get high enough standings with another corp to do level quality level 4's.

The caldari navy is not the only corporation to give navy ravens, far from it.
But are you sure you want Navy Ravens? The time when they were offering a good isk/LP ratio is gone.

You don't lose the LP, you can cash them in for 100m worth of stuff, and put that towards just buying a CNR.
Also, consider that your Caldari standings should make it easy to work for the Amarr, whose space is deserted.

Okay sweet, thanks for the tips guys. Think I'll melt my loot and GTFO of Motsu.
One question though; how can I make my LP work hardest for me? I've currently got 120k LP, and it seems the best thing I can do is run another couple of missions to get to 130k LP, and then to cash it in for 2x +5 implants - any comments?
Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

It really depend of the market in Mostu, which I don't know, but I think you could try either 2 +5 implants, or X +4 implants, or just buy lots of torps and cruises, convert them into caldari navy variants, and resell them to your fellow mission runners...

Based on Motsu market, looks like 2x +4 implants is the go.
I appreciate the help help guys... I'm off to Khanid as soon as I get another 10k LP.

The question isn't why there are so few high quality combat agents in Caldari Navy. The question is why there are so few high quality combat agents in Caldari State compared to the other factions. We went over the numbers in another thread.. the numbers are very skewed.

I think you've got to take the view as to why you are working Caldari Navy in the first place. If you're just after a tasty CNR, to mission or to sell, then I'd be switching to another corp as soon as. If you are after standings, then there are plenty of Lvl3s to rattle through with the Navy, while you can have a JC at a decent Lvl4 of another Caldari corp for the loot, faction standings.
As far as bang for buck on LPs goes, then I don't know how the +4s or +5s are going, but it seems that some of the newer plants for the pit ponies / spanner monkies are working out quite nicely in my book. Worth checking them out.

Quality is not the only thing that counts, security rating of the system plays a big factor too, and when looking at high quality agents in 0.5/0.6 systems the different factions are pretty equal. Caldari and Minmatar have the best actually, Amarr in the middle and Gallente are screwed.

I agree, security status matters, as in lower sec is better because of MUCH higher rewards. Caldari has one Q17 agent in a camped 0.4 system.. and that's the only good one they have, while Amarr/Gallente have heaps and tons of Q19/20 agents in low sec. No surprise that Caldari runners stay in Motsu/Irjunen when they don't really have any options.
Oh and... ;)

The best bang for your LP imo would be caldari navy mods like the boost amp and the shield passive amps. Both are better than tech II and use less cpu.
With good shield compensation skills (kinda talking out my azz right now cuz i never tested this or done any math) you could prolly get the navy passives to a 50% resists without using any cap and using less cpu than an active.

Why do I think that if Caldari had 100 more high quality agents in LoSec that the population of Motsu/Saila would remain essentially the same? * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

The problem is that the CN is the only good faction to use in the State.
CCP needs to put a quality 0 lvl 4 agent in highsec for all 8 megacorp police forces, and a quality 18 and/or 20 agent for those corps in low sec as well.
That's an instant 18-27 lvl 4 agents, and possibly two dozen more places to go do missions.

there needs to be less whining. I spent one day in motsu 2 years ago until i realized there was no way i was running missions there. I looked at the other CN possibilities and decided that it just wasnt going to work out. So i found myself a nice little lvl 4 q 18 in the middle of high sec for a corporation you wouldnt expect. The agents are there if you are willing to look for them.

OP, create another char on your account, send them where you're looking to move. Check the prices on items you can get from the LP store (drone spec skills for example). That way when you cash in you can sell at your dest (or on route) and make more ISK. Selling in motsu will yield less ISK, all the other runners are flogging their goods too.
