WOW is. There is a weekly one hour show on German sattelite only dedicated to WOW. And it's not a hardly working online stream but a real TV show ;-)
Problem is that I hate WOW ... but at least I don't have to pay for that show ... |

I don't know about how this works in other territories but here in Germany almost all satellite channels are free of charge :-) |

So every single household has satellite television? You don't need to pay a monthly subscription to the provider?

You can get free satellite in the UK too, but obviously not the "premium" channels. _____________________________________________

You cannot get free satellite in the UK. Please link me to a service that provides this. Everything costs. The above mentioned WoW channel is more than likely paid for by network fees, subscriber fees.

Free satellite TV.
You've gotta buy the receiver, but that's just common sense (if you want to talk to a thing in orbit, you need something to talk with).
Freeview does the same thing, only without the satellite bit. --------

You can indeed, last time I visited my parents I was suprised to find they aquired a free sat decoder and dish, not off the back of a lorry but just unwanted and they go it... connected it all up and point it at right area of sky, and guess what... free sat TV...
You don't get all the premium channels but they get a aweful lot of decent channels from all over europe, all the BBC and BBC digital, pretty much all the freeview and some sky channels and haven't paid a penny :)

No subscription but advertising (as all free channels in Germany but the ones under public law which we have to pay taxes for :-( ). In addition the channel (which is by the way mostly dedicated to games) also has a web presence which they refer to a lot and which has a fairly strong community ... also for free but this generates additional ad-revenue :-) |

Well, well, very interesting. Did not know that. That free Sky satellite looks pretty good. Thanks for the link.

You're mean, go away. I asked for a link to the service that provided it (which someone kindly posted) not some smart arse comment about Googling it.

Only if you don't already have one. Thats like saying Freespace 2 open-source isn't free, because you've got to buy a PC to play it on --------

Legend of Mir had its own show on Game Network many years ago... I'm not even sure if it is still shown at some crazy hour of the morning on Sky TV in Europe.

Satellite is free in the same way that radio is free. You need a good reception of the signal and a receiver device.
Anyone telling you to pay for satellite TV is lying and out for your cash, wherever you are in the world.

If you have the hardware (dish + receiver) you can watch 100+ satellite channels without any subscription fee, not only in UK but all over Europe. I had my first dish about 10 years ago so it's not a new technology, I'm surprised that so many of us are not aware of it.

Have to agree with you there every WOW player i know is covered with acne, I don't know why it must just be what happens if you play the game. Possibly a side effect of the subliminal messaging they put into the game to keep people playing.
