Hi,
I recently got a providence. Can this ship at lvl 5 hold 1mil cargo so I can move carriers or dreads in it? Or can only a certain freighter do this? Can you please give me a list of the max cargo freighters can hold if possible.
Thanks in advance

As far as I am aware no freighter is able to hold capital ships, since cap ships are low-sec only, putting them in a freighter would enable you to haul them into a high-sec system.

this is intenitaly done and will never change

No, freighters were specifically designed to be unable to hold capital ships. They had rig slots on SiSi but with cargohold optimizations people were breaking the 1M m3 barrier, so they were removed and freighters returned back to their slotless "glory" -----

Then Frieghters were first on the test server people spotted the fact you could haul dreads into high sec and CCP reduced the cargo space to stop it.

Actually incorrect.
You could, for a short period on TQ, move capitals in freighters. Once CCP removed the ability to build them in high sec, they also removed this ability.

I don't understand what all the worry about is over capital ships in high-security space; if they want to lose a multi-billion ISK ship to CONCORD (because evading punishment = ban), then let them go for it.
If you can make a decomissioned Churchill tank street legal in England, and drive all over the damn place, why would it be different in EVE?

goto amarr and see chribba's veldnaught.
it is posiblly still possible to get cap ships in high sec...
you would needs a cap assembley array anchor=ed online and the pos never to have run out of fuel... i think

And I think nobody wants tons of fighters in Jita and surroundings [lag monster smiley]

The Veldnuaght was there when you could build them in high sec. Since he doesn't bother anyone with it, why make him move?

When Freighters first came out, only the Gallente and Caldari ones could break the 1,000,000m3 mark but it required freighter at level 4 and 5 to achive it

actually only the Charon broke the 1m mark. and that was @ lvl 5
as for the decommissioned tank through the streets of london comment - that's fine and dandy. Tho i dont think you can do the same with a Panzer in Berlin, or a Sherman in New York... rules vary and further more you're comparing a harmless tank (talking weaponwise, wouldnt want to see a car accident against a tank) against a capital ship which would literally bring factions to their knees (en masse of course).
so yea, no FT can carry capital ships anymore.

Yes and no... while in testing on SiSi, all the freighters could potentially break 1,000,000 M3, so of course CCP pre-nerfed them as they were being launched onto TQ, at that time, the Charon and the Obelisk could indeed still break 1mil m3 (but only with a skill level 4 or 5 respectively that couldn't be attained before the next nerf rolled around), however this was literally for only a matter of days (an amount of time which made it impossible for anyone to even have one of the ships finished much less hauled anywhere), at which point all of the freighters were re-nerfed so none could pass 1mil M3 at a time where even the most well prepared corp only had the parts in production at that time, much less a completed freighter or dreadnought to use the theoretical exploit that never was because it came and went in such a way that no one could make use of it before it was "changed". ------------------------------------------------ UPDATED March 11 Formal request for improvements to industrialism |
