... but ... someone asks for corps who are currently recruiting, to contact her. So I do, and we start to chat. She's looking for a mining/manufacturing/deep space mining outfit, which is what we'd be if we were big enough, which is why we're recruiting. So I ask her if she's looking for something large and organised, or a small, semi-freelance outfit like ours, and she says, "what blueprints do you have?"
Now ... we can buy bpc's from other players, and make stuff, no problem. So why, I wonder, does she want to know what blueprints we own, before making a decision on whether to join?
Anybody got any ideas?

1. Because she wants to find out what level your gameplay has reached? 2. The corp might build ships but not the ships she wants to fly?
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

well if you dont allow members to use the BP's even if there were dishonest motives it's not like the person can run off with something they cant get hold of

mebbe she doesnt know that. mebbe she means what products your corp produces, if its a big manufacturer of many products and not that you can buy whatever bpc you need if you want to. she wants to know that you are organized enough to produce, get them to market and also need any minerals she may have to sell. And as the poster above pointed out, it doesnt matter, she cant get to them, can she? ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Not in our corp, no. But then she decided not to join.
There may well be an honest line of thinking behind it; I'm not going to accuse anyone of attempting corp thievery. I merely point out, that, if somebody WERE a corp thief trying to get in, these are exactly the things they'd be doing; so if she comes along to any of you lot, be forewarned.

A clearcut golddigger, she'll move along when something shinier catches her eyes anyway.

As a HR Director for MUC, I encounter this all the time. People naturally want to know the assets of your corp to see if they are going to benefit from giving their services.
You have to take it as a give-give situation. It is a privilege to be a part of a good corporation, but it is also a privilege to have good, productive players that are happy.
Sharing resources is part of a good relationship between corp and mate!
And no, you cant have access to my blueprint hangar
