In the last hour I've had 7 CTDs.
They always occur whilst fighting Training Drones in the training zone in Bourynes, by the University of Caille. I can be happily blasting them to peices, no stuttering, shuddering or stopping and all of a sudden I get a blue screen saying "windows has been shut down because it sucks so much ass blablabla"
It tells me to make sure my drivers and stuff are all up to date (which they are, as of 20 minutes ago). I have the latest directx as of 18 minutes ago aswell.
My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX -440.
I turned the "Sun occluded by ships" graphics option off, because it was recommended I do so, but it still crashed when fighting the drones.
Any ideas?

Hmmm - my advice would be to skip the training drone. This part teaches you to target the drone and fire at it with your turret and destroy it. You can finsih this part of the tutorial by warping to the station in system and docking and going on to the station tutorial.
Join channel help by pressing F12 and hitting join channel and ask for more info there.

See the recommendations here.
These have helped with random CTDs quite often (in addition to logon problems). I used to get 4-5 crashes & BSODs per hour until I started running in Win98 compatibility mode ...

it seems they dont feel that when the server drops your connection that it is thier fault, its happend to me 5 times in the last 2 days once costing me a ship and about 20 blue prints due to CTD and even with the proof from the crash.dmp and error.txt that it was a server side issue they will just sluff it off and ignore you

Its issues like that which make me wonder,,, Why play the game if after weeks or months of hardwork your prize posesions are lost because of a CTD.
Id hope those in charge realize many players are tetering on the edge of leaving EVE simply due to the frustration from a lack of playability. Awesome concept,,, average execution so far.

I've CTD many times since the latest patch and it's starting to anoy me. Was fine mining away and then then as soon as the NPC pirates came it CTD. Took ages to log back in and I knew what had happened, egg!!!! had lost my best drones and the miner II turrets i had managed to aquire. The ship was cheap since i'm new to the game every penny counts and it annoys that this great game is almost getting to be unplayable.
I'm hoping tonight will provide a different gaming experience!
Am finding Lag to be a real pain in the rear, have lost several ships to that in the past and if there are more than 3 ships/drones in the area the lag is terrible!

Today, I have lost count of how many CTD's and freezes I had and I'm on the verge of starting to kick my computer around the room. I like EVE very VERY much, I hooked up with some nice people and I enjoy it BUT:
I work, I have othe responcibilities so I can play only a few hours/day. In those few hours, I want to have fun. I don't want to reset my computer countless times and restart the client countless times. Hats down to the devs for creating a great game, but from my angle, it's unplayable - I'm gonna stick with it a little longer, but I'm not going to pay continuously for anything to loose my hair over it - I have enough stress during the day already.
I think the MAIN goal ov the dev team should be the improvement of the client to make it STABLE - NO, I don't want to turn off my firewall, neither I want to install 2 year old drivers, and I SURE won't change any hardware because of a single game, no matter what it is. My computer is not dedicated solely to EVE and it will stay that way. ATM, client seams way too much sensitive for my taste. That is all I want for the price I pay for playing this (or any other) game. I have a solid hardware setup with nevest drivers installed on every piece so dev's for god's sake fix the stability before eveything else because I DO want to play this game, but I WON't pay for something that I can't use - would you buy a car that craps on every corner, no matter how much you like the interior and how much it's confortable.
