Sounds like they like the idea. It could work as long as you were the one to create the setup and it was only T1 or T2 mods (ie off the market). Global setups are not cool.
P.S. Change the pics to link before the mods nerf your post

I dont like it,
This aint 'Fury' and setting up ships takes time, and you need to actually 'think' do do something or you might make a mistake. That mistake might cause the battle to turn either against you or by some sheer luck to your advantage.
Noone is stopping you from buying your ships in bulk and setting them up beforehand, just rename your ships like the setup you have on it.
I like to see people experiment with setups, this would make that more rare. Less mistakes are made and then after a while noone even thinks anymore when fitting their ship.

I agree with Ssoraszh. Quickly fitting a ship with stuff is a matter of skill and hangar organization. This suggestion would be excellent if the point of the interface was to allow speedy fitting without effort or skill. But considering that it's a rather obvious interface change (that many of us have wished for), the lack of such a feature boils down to CCP deciding that you should need a little time to fit your ship...
However, let me let you in on a little secret: keep the items you want to fit quickly in a seperate container in your hangar. Keep your hangar floor clear of junk. If you select the items from the can and select fit to active ship, you can fit your entire ship within seconds.
And if you want to "save" a fitting, you just empty the hangar floor, unfit all from the fitting screen and store the stuff that lands on the hangar floor it in a nicely labeled can.
Only downside: if you have multiple setups using the same module, you need as many copies of the item as you have setups. (not to mention that you need cans with setups at every station where you want to be able to fit quickly)
Greetings, Grismar.

The bonus to this method is that it allows CCP to get on with fixing things rather than adding extra stuff in!!
OP, nice idea, but perhaps that one is best left to a time when there are less urgent matters to attend to
