Tonight i went low sec with my corp mates and the first fight we came across activated fraps. OFMG INSANE LAG BOMB!!! looked down at the FPS, hitting a max of 2FPS. This has only occurred after the recent updates.
Has anyone else experienced this crisis? If so have you found a way to combat this?
Please help. Need to spread propaganda.

It could be the memory leak problem + fraps RAM usage. Not sure though.

Same problem - only after eve has been open for a while.
My temp fix is to just restart the eve client (say in a break of fighting) - record for a max of 2 minutes.. rinse repeat. It's horrible, but, it'll have to do until the hot fix (tomorrow/Thursday)

Fraps is very very resource intensive. Unless you have run FRAPS before without any problems then you might want to look into your system specs. I have a very very high end system and running one instance of FRAPS takes me from 70+ FPS to 15-25 FPS recording at 50 FPS @ 1280x1024. Its possible that if you are recording at 33FPS with non FRAPS FPS of 40ish you could be put below 10FPS.
Try reducing your recording FPS & resolutiion and make sure your harddrive isnt compressing files as they are written.

I don't think its the system specs that are the problem
2x2.4ghz processor (AMD) 2gig of RAM NVidia GeForce 7600GT (x2, although operating dual monitors) Decent sound card.
I didn't have any problem before they did the 'stackless python' thingy.
Before i got 40odd fps pre-fraps recording which went down to 22fps when it was recording.

Thanks for posting this, i feel like such a ****, i just realized that the problem was cause by the fact i had changed the file path to an external hard drive. This was causing the poor FPS.
Sorry, thanks for the help anyway.

Yep, an external HD doesnt have the bandwidth to write the live, uncompressed video that FRAPS uses. Keep it internal or possibly even high-end firewire.
