Somebody got up on the wrong side of the pod today. Sheesh.
Dude, it's a KIDS movie. Of course, you're probably at that teen age where anything for kids is "lame". In other words: You don't yet have the maturity to appreciate the subtle "grown-up" humor that often goes into ostensibly "kids" productions.
Lighten up, it's just for fun.

People watch these, these... abominations of film? Wrecks of celluloid? Brain destroying horrors? Never post such a thing again, for it is far scarier and more worrying than anything that exists in the darkest depths of the EVE universe.

Wtf
It's just an anim movie that is obviously aimed at younger viewers. I really don't see what's so horrible about it...

1. Complete lack of real humour. In a movie preview, don't you generally show the bits that will get people interested? For a comedy, shouldn't they be, I dunno, funny?
2. The continuing trend of softening up the image of pirates. Pirates are not and were never cute, fuzzy, amusing, or in any way something that children should honestly aspire to be. Pirates are still boarding ships and killing people, particularly off the African coasts and in Indonesia / South China. Real life pirates are theives and murderers. Where Disney gets off turning them into a cartoon I do not know, much less these jokers.
3. The Veggie Tales series in general I find abhorrent, because of it's connection to the Chick Fil'A religious right marketing machine.
I dunno. Having been brought up on cartoons like "The Hobbit" and "A Mouse And His Child," I just don't see feeding claptrap like this to kids as beneficial. _

Veggie Tales has a HUGE religious cult following...it's not very funny, at least not intentionally, but it's considered 'safe' for children so it's very popular. They don't really need to advertise as the base is there, all it's got to do is say what, when and where to get it.

For an 8 year old, it probably is. Which is why it's such a mystery you didn't find it funny.

JESUS YOU'RE RIGHT!!!
When they made this kids movie about VEGETABLES that are PIRATES they gave no consideration whatsoever to historic fact. Think, kids will be growing up today completely oblivious to the horrors vegetables wrought to colonial-era sailors!
Moron.

And the horrors continue! Kids everywhere will be faced with the moral dilemma of basing their religious beliefs on what their parents tell them, or what a vegetable wearing an eyepatch tells them.

Hey if we're going from the elitist jerk angle, I read The Hobbit when I was 9. Cartoons? Pfeh, corporate mangling of a classic designed to placate children with bright colours.
See, I'm being more condescending than you, that makes me right. --------- EVE is like a box of chocolates.

Hey! Another Ex-PS player in EVE I see.
They just keep driving more people away with those obnoxious ads on everything, and letting PS dies a slow death. Sad really.
Oh, and to the nutty conspiriacy theorists here... "Chick-Fil-a religious right"? What the heck? Are you NUTS? It's a kids movie, based on a group of characters created for ANOTHER kids movie. (IE: a spinoff movie) It's not intended to be in any way accurate about pirates, it's intended to be funny and cute and for KIDS.
Man, so many frigging loonies out there these days, you can't even point out something cute and kid-friendly without some crazy bringing up nutty conspiracy theories about it. GEEZ!

Chick-Fil-A and Religion. Check their own website. They're quite upfront about their desire to "glorify God" in everything they do. This isn't exactly a secret, nor is it a conspiracy. It's just a fact that the restaraunt incorporates christian principles into it's business.
It is also, unless you're just not paying attention, a fact that the Veggie Tales series is unabashadly biblical. Here's their website. Chick-fil-a promotes Veggie Tales through merchandising. Tell me there's not a connection between Veggie Tales, Chick-Fil-A, and the mass marketing of christian religion. It's not a conspiracy because they don't hide it. They're proud of it.

I guess my beef is that I really don't see the problem with any of that. I would think that having more Christian principles (care about your neighbor as much as you care about yourself, treat others as you would like them to treat you, pay your workers fair wages, pay your taxes on time and give to the poor, etc.) in business would be an overall good thing and would lead to a generally nicer world to live in.
At any rate, my post was just intended to be funny and cute and silly, imagining EVE pirates dancing around and singing about not doing anything while being scared of wicker furniture. :)
Oh, and I do hope we can continue to get along, even if we have a difference of opinion. Particularly on the Tech forums.
Cheers!
