I looked and didn't see anything really about this, but then again i could just be blind.
I think it would be a GREAT idea to add on to the online account character things. as on for you can go online to check the status of current skills that are being trained on a character. I think this kind of limits players in the aspect of Actually having a life and going places. For example say i want on a trip ( for a week ) and did not have access to the game client. Skills that i would be training could finish, but since i would not have access to the game i would not be able to start another. I think this kind of limits players that are not as "HARDCORE" as others. I don't think it would be That hard to make it to where i could start/stop training a skill through access on the net through eve-online. I think it would be great for players who actually have a job and have to go to work during the day. This way they could check and start new skill training just by accessing their account. it could be done on a lunch break or w/e in a matter of minutes.
Any ways. I'd like to know what you guys think about it. And please dont cut my head off it this has already been posted. AiMerc~Ash

I agree with this, so long as your account is active you should be able to do this through the character screen. It should be possible with the api thing, who knows maybe its already in the works.

Can't have looked very hard, same thread on page 2 and it's suggested about once every 2 weeks. CCP has said long time ago that they don't like it.

You plan on going on a vacation for those skills that take a month or more to train? Just set a long skill when you plan on going, cancel account, when you come back you got a hard skill done + vacation...double win! :P

Edited by: Empire marketslave on 31/07/2007 08:19:47 part of the problem is get in the Battleship/(insert "must have" here) now/as fast as you can syndrome.
people see that i need to train X to Xlv to use this and it will take 7hrs. they work for 8hrs so the get mad that they have to wait 8hrs+7hrs to get thier skill cause they will lose a full hours of skill trainning .
it is more of a problem for newer players where they dont have pages of very long skills that can take the time of any normal vacation with a little planning(i could train up to carrier lv 4 then set lv 5 for a nice long vacation)
And you can check what skill is trainning you just cant do anything with the info

never gonna happen: it would kill the 'players online statistic'. CCP does not want this. ----------------------------------------------- "Yes... I sleep with my myrmidon. It's nothing to be ashamed of!" |

Umm yea, read this people...
http://myeve.eve-online.com/updates/plannedfeat.asp
The Drawingboard:
Quote: Skill Training - Queue or Dual training
This could enable players to either queue skills so that when one level finishes the next level in that skill starts training automatically, or another preset skill starts training automatically. Dual training would enable you to have a primary long-term skill in training with a secondary short-term skill sharing the training time. After a level in the secondary skill has trained, the primary skill trains at full speed again.
So indeed CCP is 'thinking' about it, So shh to people who totaly think they are right that CCP absoltuly hate this idea. Sick of hearing it, they are 'thinking about it' so sssh and let them think.
