Anybody done the homework on this?
Im talking starter char up to being to fly (not just sit in) a thanatos.
what race and bloodline career etc and how fast has anybody done it?
+4 implants max.

for a goal that long range its somewhat irrelevent, you need so many skills to be usefull in a carrier its not even funny that includes charisma for leadership at the very least memory for jump skills and drones intelegence for learning and if you want to tank it and obviously perc will
personally id just say dive in with any race your losing more time umming and ahhring right now than you would from racial selection

Caldari Accura=uber attributes, get +4's straight away then max your learning out and you'll be there in no time

Yes, and what I was saying which you seemed to miss the point of the Achura have very balanced attributes when learning is done. Charisma is not important so much as all you need is leadership 5 which is like 7 days training...

carrier 4 and fighters 4 is advised, and my corpmate says you need Jump Drive Calibration (prereq JD Operation 5) if you want to be able to move the thing without having to make a ton of jumps.

That means you will need to train 735 int 585 mem 478 perc 290.5 will 283 cha (where primary attribute has x1 modifer and secondary has x0.5 modifer) ranks of skills. Ofcource it's not that simple as training skill to lev 5 takes a lot more time than lev 4 but it gets you rather rough ballbark in what order you might like to look at your stats. In reality I would go for Int/Perc/Mem/Will/Cha order and if possible then will / cha at least around 5. Reason for that being, that slightly higher Perc intially will get you into your carrier earlier at the cost of slightly longer training times when you are starting to 'max out' all your support class skills.
Max skilled mothership pilot is around 75 mil SP and approx 3.75 years of training (with +5 implant set). Reasonably skilled carrier is around 20 mil SP and approx 1 year of training (like actually able to use his ship for jumping around and able to fit capital sized tanking modules) altho one can propably sit in the hull as soon as 6 .. 7 months altho at that stage he could not be called yet 'capital ship pilot' as it would be same as sitting in battleship with small guns and shields boosters/ armor reppers.

The skill description states that it gives 5% to agility for any ship requiring the capital ships skill, are you saying it is broken above level 3, or just that the difference isn't noticeable?

oh, I only looked at the ship itself not the skill. I assume the skill works as intended, but even then they're already so huge and slow that 5% agility isn't going to make much difference and there's a lot of other stuff that would be more useful.

Caldari Achura. Select Leadership 5 as a starting skill and do 5/4 Learning on all expect charisma. Get the +4s in early.
Use Evemon.
