Is there a way (Skill/item/anything) to have more than 5 drones in a non carrier ship

Edited by: Baby Jane on 05/08/2007 10:06:42 Nope, the skill drone interfacing used to give you an extra drone for each level, but they changed that quite a while back because of lag issues. Now you get more damage / hp with less drones.

Unless you happen to come across a Guardian-Vexor, I don't think there is any other way, no. _____________________ Lose To be unable to find: mislay, misplace.

The skill still works the same way though, 20% more damage and hitpoints equals another drone.

but if you could launch 6 drones instead of 5, why would you launch 5 combat and a webber or a repair drone.. you'd be losing damage because you could just launch 6 combats.

Carriers get extra drones per carrier level, and can fit modules that allow for even more drones "but you can only fit 1 module per advanced drone interfacing level". ______________________

No
Katsumishi said it above... the guardian vexor is the other option. They are very rare.

I might be wrong here, but Advanced Drone Interfacing makes you able to handle one more drone per lvl.

Only on the carriers/Motherships.
Adv drone interfacing allows you to fit a drone control unit, 1 per level, allowing for an extra drone per module.
train it to V and get a carrier, then laugh. ----------------------------- I'm too lazy to make a real sig, so I leave it to the Mods (Dev's too)!

cus, if their was a max of 10, you would only lose 1/10th instaid of 1/5th damage, even better if it was 15 cap wich i read somewhere, must of been outdated guide.
Thanks for the replys all

The Guardian-Vexor is still in-game, but it cannot be bought, built or won anymore, so it's not a viable option. Well, only a few people own a G-V, but they are not selling at, most likely, any cost!

Pretty sure I saw one go for around a bil a few months back. Not sure, but I remember being shocked that anyone was even selling it.

The Guardian-Vexor was recently removed from the market, but you could theoretically still buy one on contract.
Why you would buy/sell/fly one is beyond me.....every pirate in the Universe wants his/her name on that kill-mail. I'm mostly a carebear and I want to be on that kill-mail!!
The best place for a G-V is in a museum.

Repair/web drones only work on items that you can target (so you can't repair your own ship with your drones) That being said, there are ways to keep your drones from taking damage. Don't launch your drones until the enemy has started firing on your ship (assuming NPC enemy). The NPC's won't switch targets until your ship is destroyed or you warp away so you can launch them and rarely have to worry about them attacking your drones. Occasionally they will switch and start firing on your drones but it doesn't happen often.
