Edited by: Bobby Atlas on 06/08/2007 11:43:47 The sum of the battle in M3-H2Y earlier this evening against Pure is that I was remote repairing station services with my thanatos and a bunch of stealth bombers started shooting me, I laughed and went back to my dinner at my desk. A few minutes later an arazu, vagabond and ishtar joined and the vaga/ishtar were nano setup going 6km/s or so. They were bumping me but it was showing me only going 5-10m/s when they bumped me, I got a bit cheeky, laughed at the efforts and kept eating dinner.
Done my dinner, about 5 minutes have past, local is steadily rising from about 6 hostiles to now about 15 including some mwd battleships. I take this as my queue to stop being cheeky and dock up till gang finishes forming, I am still 0m from station so I click dock. Uh-oh - It keeps saying "approaching docking...", at this point I am spamming the dock request but am still tanking fine, still no go on dock. Another few minutes go by, at about 50% capacitor and holding tank fine when the decision is made on comms to try relog. A swift ctrl+q and I am quickly back into game in less than 2 minutes; well low and behold I am 16km off station!!! ôstupid desyncsö I think to myself.
Looking at local hostile count, we are up to almost 30 now, multiple bs, lots of tacklers/dictors/support and more coming into local steadily. Ok, I am sweating it a bit but gang was already forming, we got 3 carriers on standby, 2 were a few systems out, they finally cyno over and carriers are ready. I am at this point out of armor, 5% or so cap left so I kick in my last dual cap reper cycles. Carriers begin to warp in, although out of capacitor I was able to keep my damage control II going. I am at about 60% structure and carriers finally land on me - then another carrier signs on and gets in gang.
Two of the carriers land on top of me however one ended up snared in a dictor bubble about 80km out and the 4th carrier was still few minutes off from being ready. I begin receiving remote repairs and I am at about 45% structure at this point while the DPS of enemy fleet is still chewing at me but not as bad. I begin to call primaries, taking out the battleships close in on my carrier, using the enemies dictor bubbles to our advantage.
The carrier that landed out 80km is finally able to warp off once the dictor bubble times out, nobody in the enemy fleet paid attention to him. My structure is still falling but we downed some of the nos bs's, cap begins to recover (which I had not yet noticed). Then that stray carrier finally warps back and lands perfectly on me, he gets his remote capital shield reper on me and a swarm of armor bots while the 4th carrier and support gang warp in moments later.
I am at this point at 15% structure, a** puckering up a bit, then I realize my capacitor is recovering so kick in the armor repers and continue to call primaries. The enemy fleet is slowly going down with armor/shields going up at a solid pace and sitting at 13% structure to spare. Fast forward about 10 minutes, it is all over and the enemy fleet has been put down or is warping off but not before I managed to get my fighters on a maelstrom as it enters warp - then a minute later I get an inbox flash, the maelstrom is dead.
We held the field, looted what we could then word came of an enemy fleet leaving LS-JEP system and is closing fast. We count our blessings, gather what we can and warp the gang off to the pos to disengage not wanting to get anymore cheeky and make what was an amazing fight turn into a terrible loss.
Thank you pure for bringing the fight, no matter how colon-irritating as it may have been. As always respect to chaos and atlas boys that turned out at a moments notice.

About as skid-marked as the carrier... With due respect, I think I owe the ability of keeping a cool head in the fight despite the odds to the litany of engagements against you/MC in the past.

Sounds like you guys are having fun. Always nice to read exciting battle reports and have smack free threads!
Why are PURE Attacking you anyway? Just a random conflict or are they after something?

For the sake of leaving this as smack free a thread as possible, I think both sides would agree it just a territorial dispute.

Pretty good write up I must say. Nothing is more of a pain in the backside than getting a carrier bumped if you don't have support nearby

Exactly right my friend. We looked into their claim and have proved it false. One of their Ex-leaders confirmed that the agreement they made 7 months ago were not for our systems. The constellations that were adjoining vale of the silent that we have not made any incursion on were the ones they laid claim to. The systems that they have legitimate claims in had one or two small pos claiming sov. which was the reason we chose the space we did as there were no territory claims what so ever.
It surprises me though hippy that pure are spending time and resources fighting us (people who have already pledged support for the war on the same side as them) instead of concentrating on the north where they should be offering support.

Edited by: Drantis on 06/08/2007 19:01:49 I really do not like talking on these forums as the threads usually trail of into places I donÆt like to go.
That said I thought I would come on here and correct a few things before they get out of hand.
First thing I would like to say is great write up Bobby - very accurate, very unbiased and the way battle reports should be written.
Secondly - I think a territorial issue sums this up perfectly. I have given my stance you have given yours and we disagree. However as we didnÆt have sov in all the systems up there, this mainly due to a couple of corps leaving and me being busy in the north, I can see how this could have been mistaken. However as the closest neighbour, one convo would have sorted all this mess out.
Quote: One of their Ex-leaders confirmed
I am not sure who you have spoken - this EX leader - as there is and has only been one leader of PURE - thatÆs me.
Quote: The constellations that were adjoining vale of the silent that we have not made any incursion on were the ones they laid claim to.
The agreement regarding Northern 87- was made between PURE, the then CDC (followed by Hydra) MM (Koth Fluf) mediated too.
Quote: It surprises me though hippy that pure are spending time and resources fighting us (people who have already pledged support for the war on the same side as them) instead of concentrating on the north where they should be offering support.
PURE has fought on every front against BOB and her allies as I am sure MC, the northern Coalition, FIX and some BOB pilots will testify.
Finally I will say this - the fact that you put an outpost up 8 jumps from one of PURE stations without seeking standings as well as the fact you or your allies are supplying Super Capital ships to the enemies of the Coalition is what is driving me to take action.
Mine and PURE's final post in this thread will be to say that if any member of the coalition wishes to discuss this with me...convo me.
Regards D>
