Yes, i wish more people would do this method, its the greatest. The best time to eject is when your flying a command ship or BS.
Unless you have a full set of crystals or snakes this method is pointless.
Ejecting from you ship and getting away. good Ejecting from your ship and never getting your insurance payout, look down at local and see: thank you. priceless. Hells

I've ejected 3 or 4 times when being ganked and find the pilots shooting me are so caught up in a frenzy they don't realise and carry on shooting. I allways eject when into structure and am still shooting at them. Never given a free ship away like that at all.

This is what I normally do and it is never a problem.
Except the other day I was podded *after* I had warped away. I was sitting at a planet, ready to warp to a safespot, with no sign of any hostiles on my screen and suddenly I woke up in a clone. After convoing the guy who got me he said that my pod hadn't moved on his screen whereas on mine the instawarp had gone through.
I think this had something to do with the dysynch issue tbh. I got the standard petition reply "Our logs show nothing".
Meh, implants are cheap nowadays, but it was still annoying.

Ejecting is totally pointless. u can get your pod out like the op says 99% of the time if u have a decent connection. if i had a mil for every pilot i've had eject on me that i've podded i'd be a very rich man.

This technique works in 90% of cases where there is no bubble present.
However there is more I would like to add; I read this same advice on these boards ages and ages ago, its not like you are making a startling revelation or anything, and yet people still get podded.
Perhaps your post will help someone who didnt know, but the majority of people out there either dont read the forums at all or refuse to follow advice no matter how good it may be.
Best of luck in your campaign to educate the masses.

Its simple but obviosuly alot of you dont know. When you know your ship is going down, have a celestial object as your selected item at the top of your overview i.e station, planet, stargate etc. even when your ship is still in hull click the warp to button (in the selected item box)repeatedly, click like youve never clicked before. Once your ship goes down carry on the clicking and you will be safe (insta warp).
Im yet to know anybody that has been podded using this method.
Save your pod and stop funding piewats. There naughty

I love these VIGIL guys. They stop by my systems every once in while so I can kick their asses and pod them.
I find it *extremely* ironic that A) they have 'anti-pirate) in their description/corp name, and B) that they're giving out advice on how to not be podded. L O L.

It was you guys that were trying to be all slick with your cloaked Rooks and Rapiers and your Deimos and Hawk and w/e else you had on hand.
IIRC, you lost a Rook and a Deimos and a Hawk, and the Rapier ran like hell. Also lost a few pods I think.
So yeah, you're talking out your arse.

this 'feature' seems to have been depreciated in a recent patch. however the new way to save your pod is having a destination set and activating autopilot the moment before you pop - it will move you to safety.

Actually, I just found those kills I was thinking about. Different group of blobbers. Sorry about that.
I just really get confused with all the different groups that come in with various bait and scout ships and keep the other dozen or so outside.
The guys I was thinking of were from Cyrene. Between 'VIGIL', Cyrene, FXI, etc. etc. it's hard to keep track. Same ships, same skills, same tactics.

The method described by the OP works like a charm, i have been using this ever since they removed "warping by dubble clicking an celestial object"
You can simply not get podded using this unless you lag really bad, your comp is worse then a toaster, you get smartbombed or sitting in a dictor bubble.

Edited by: Pussey Spankratchet on 09/08/2007 10:43:02 My celsestial object allways resets when I lose a ship as well. No point in spamming a button if it won't activate. I have to allways reselect and unfortunatly that means ppl sometimes have time to target and scram you and to make things worse you get ppl calling you a noob because you lose a pod in empire.
At least it's not as bad as having to live with the rep of being a dirty little logger though!
BTW I have an 8mb connection and the machine I run EvE on is a quadcore with 4mb of ram and SLI 8k series of GFX cards. Don't bleeding tell me my connection is crap and my machine is an old toaster!

When popped I get a couple moments of lag, to long to escape anything small or with a sensor booster.
Then I get a little silly, eject when scrambled in an ambush when I've barely started taking damage and give someone a free ship =/. It lagged then to, I had a bm selected that became deselected, and my mouse turned into the pointy mouse that can't select anything (so no right click warp to on the bm) until I clicked in space and back on the bm ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

Not only a tool...but then: ..."Probe out"
Now that's just fearmongering. Everyone knows that you can't probe a pod that logs off, since the pod doesn't have aggro, and no prober can scan and warp to in the 30 seconds it takes the pod to disappear from the server.

Been killed a few times in massive fleet fights after warping out.. One time from 63000km sitting at a station waiting for dock over 2 minutes by a 200mm - lol Great falloff on that. I think they should nerf it..
If you lag you're dead, if not you can probably get away in empire at least.
edit: if you find it resetting when your ship pops, best way to do it is to select and hold left click (or whatever your select button is) on a object in space infront of you then hover over warp to 0 (pretty sure that does not reset) or else quickly do that again, better than cluttering up overview IMHO :). Simply let it go and off you warp..

This is the lamest thing to do and we threat it as a corp -> person -10. If you want to be primary all the time, do that. Or die with balls.
Corpmate kept a list of people who ejected in PvP but the 4kb-bio-nerf erased the list :-(
Back to topic: Yes, lag. Yes, all cruisers will have a lock on the egg if the pilot didn't spam warp-to. The reason podding may occur in zero/zero more is because of the sweet little secstatus hit you get for podkilling in lowsec/empire... . So, some ppl will simply not even trying to get the pod. ---- Start of Sig ----
