Anyone use this for missions before, how would you go about fiiting it.
Im thinking pure Res tank and a single rep seeing as it has 8 lows, then maybe some armor rep amount/time rigs.
Suggestions?

I just saved up enough to get my Navy Mega last weekend. This is the setup I am currently using:
7x 350mm Prototype Gauss 1x Arbalest HML
1x Optical Tracking CPU 3x Cap Recharger II
1x MFS II 1x EANM II 4x Rat Specific Hardener IIs 1x DCU II 1x LAR II
3x CCC rigs
5x Hammerhead IIs (with Hobgoblin IIs as alternatives)
This fits with Weapon Upgrades IV, Engineering V and Electronics V.
It permaruns the LAR II, which isn't necessary, but has proven to be very convenient. It has very high resists against the two primary damage types. Against Sanshas, Amarr or Blood Raiders, I drop one of the Hardeners and fit a second MFS II. Against Angels, I fit 2x Explosive, 1x Kinetic, 1x Thermal.
I mostly use Thorium charges, which give a good balance of range, cap sustainability and damage. If cap isn't an issue, I use Antimatter. The tracking on the 350s is a lot better than on the 425s.
So far, it has worked well for me. I'm still playing around with it and will probably adjust my setup for each mission as I get more familiar with it. As I get better, and more comfortable flying a ship I can barely afford to fly, I might go for a little more gank (more MFS), but for now I am erring on the side of bigger tank. I'm interested in any constructive feedback people want to offer. ------------

PS - I may be overtanking it a bit. Five days ago I would have added another tracking CPU, an AB and a couple more MFS IIs. Then I lost my regular Megathron to a lag spike when coming in to help a friend in a mission on Saturday night. The system I was in was not busy (50 in local), the mission I had been in was not at all laggy. I got a distress call from a friend in the same system and a corpmate and I warped to the other guy. As we warp in, he types in, "Warp to 100." Bit late for that... After a minute of loading, I realized there was a full Drone spawn (Level 4 - Attack of the Drones, I think). By the time I could do anything, they were well into my armor and I was warp scrambled. Thanks to my corpmate in the Raven, and my drones, I actually warped out of the mission to the gate I aligned towards. I was thanking my lucky stars, when I suddenly lagged back into the mission and was sitting next to my wreck. So, I'm going to overtank it for the time being. I'll also be less zealous about helping friends (almost every ship I have lost in PvE has been due to helping friends who have not managed spawns as carefully as I would). Or at least do better recon to find out exactly what kind of a mess they are in first...

7 x 425mm t2 4 x cap (t2 as faction are a little pointless here) 3 x rat spec hard (faction) 2 x eanm (faction) 1 x lar (faction) 2 x mag stab (faction)
2 x ccc 1 x semicondutor
works for me or 3 x ccc all the same really. as for the faction mods what ever you can get your hands on although i wouldnt rec buying a core x or simular rep atm as the prices are silly.

Sell it and buy a navy raven. Even if youre gallente spec (as I am), missions will be so much faster in a navy raven compared to any gallente ship. I always stood by my tried and true dominix, until a week or 2 ago when I bought a navy raven and fittings, and I'll never go back.

The problem with kittens is that they grow up to be cats. Good riddance as far as I am concerned.
I know I won't be as effective as possible for a few months (or years), but it was a deal as far as I was concerned. I could get a new Megathron with rigs for 150 million or a Navy Megathron with rigs for 550 million. So, I went for the cool ship (that extra low slot is nice). If I lose it, it's only ISK. And the rats keep bringing me more of that every weekend. In the meantime, it makes PvE fun and challenging (and earns me enough money to do some PvP with my other account). ------------

Nice to see some setups for lvl4 mission running, although i wont use it much (i run missions in a standard raven) as i bought it really for fun - i flash it at the corp mates just to **** em off **** off with ur drakes tank! stop being a ***** and buy a raven with its massive sig radius and then TANK THAT! Don't use it for missions and keep using the ship you have bc it wont make it that much faster. Use the ship for pvp instead like its intended. Thx.

Isn't the Mega Navy Issue simply flat out worse than the Vindicator? If you're gonna buy a faction ship, why not the Vindi?

Extra low slot vs extra mid & more cap with mwd. For missioning the extra tank is worth it, and you'll have an AB since you'll be in deadspace most of the time. For pvp, vindi does have an advantage though. ---

Not really. You can put a Cap Recharger in that extra mid and save yourself a CPR or CCC rig. So you'll have the same tank.
The main benefit to Vindi is it gets the 25% damage bonus straight up. So you don't have to train Battleship V.

However any respectable Vindicator pilot would be compelled to have BS V anyway. ---------------------------------

I tend to use my navy mega for Pve and PvP, thats why i have fitted following:
7x 350mm II, heavy nos cap rech II, heavy cap inj II(5 cap charges), web, tracking cpu SS LAR, 2x 1600mm plate, DCU II, 2x corpum passive hardner, 2x active hardner. 1x nano aux, 2x trimark
it gives me 33k of armor with pretty decent resist, 14k of structure with 60% resists.
For PvP i exchange rails for ions II and i think that nos goes to medium.
4x ogre II/zerkers II, 5x warriors/hobgoblins

Not for PvE.
