Edited by: Athena Attom on 07/08/2007 14:36:41 Just saw the news item, may I suggest rather than attacking a pos we attack a super capital? The general de-sync seems to be fixed or I have not had the issue apart from possibly grid not loading when large fleet fights happen.
Super capitals de-sync when a large amount of people are attacking it... why not attack it in order to see why it desyncs rather than a static pos which no one gives a crap about if it dies rather than the 40b mothership or the 100b titan ;)?

I think that a POS is a good target, because with a POS there are a lot of items on the grid, and possibly part of the desync is related to loading items on the grid.
Also, I would be interested to see what happens when there are 100 people camping one gate, and another 100 people jump into that system. This has been documented as problematic on several occasions for several alliances all across the map.

Lag by jumping in is in my expirience caused by all fleet bonus calculations that have to been done. Few weeks ago in a fleet of only 70. We started without bonusses but after i started to set up wings and squads correctly so their respective bonusses where being applyed, more and more people started complaining every jump we made.
When fleet was correctly set up - 3 wings, 9 squads all with both wing and squad bonusses into place things where just awfully laggy on jump ins (even in close to empty systems).

As a super cap pilot I can safely say that the Desync issue has notihng to do with PoS warfare. It happens when you collide with an object. It seems there is soe disagreement between the client and server as to the outcome of that collision. The more objects in your way and the bigger your ship, the more pronounced the issue becomes. Stay 10km away from any and all obects and you'll never Desync.
