first a little introduction. I am the one in our corp with very high refining skills and that is why I offer my corp mates "refining services" so everybody gets as much yield from their loot/ores etc. as possible. This means I get alot of contracts every day with stuff to refine/recycle and thus came some ideas to improve the contract system (mainly the creation of contracts).
The first problem is returning people their refined minerals. And here comes my first contract improvement idea, a "reply" sort of contract. Simply put, if I get an item exchange contract, there is a "Accept & Return" button, this button accepts the contract and opens a window, similar to a cargo container (unlimited space of course) where I can simply drag stuff from my hangar into it. Once I'm done there is a "Finish" button on the bottom of the container and clicking this button opens the create contract assistent, but with preset type (Item Exchange) and receiver (the one who created the original contract) and the items selected I have put into the container window.
That was the first idea. Second one is, that if you are creating a new contract, and the items are at the same station as you are currently in, the item list (with checkboxes on every item) is converted into a cargo container, where i can drag the items into. My problem is, if I select 10 items in my hangar, right click to create contract, and then I remember that I forgot something, I don't like to search for it in the list with little icons (which cannot even be sorted by group, as i prefer it), I either lose lots of time looking for the item in a list sorted as I'm not used to, or create a new contract with the forgotten item. Give us an option to keepo the old system for those who like it.
Third, when I start typing something into the "Name" box on the first window of the create contract assistent, "Private" should be selected automatically and, (if "Auction" is the current type) change type to "Item Exchange". I mean, the appearing message box is ridiculous, if the assistent is intelligent enough to detect the fault, it should also change it accordingly and highlight the change somehow; you get enough warnings to doublecheck your contracts before finishing them.
These are the ideas that came into my mind. The first and second one being the major improvements in my opinion, making life much easier if you are dealing with a lot of contracts daily.
Feel free to discuss and/or add your own ideas.
