So i was thinking about trying out HAM's instead of the heavies i use now on me NH to see if HAM's do more damage, but then it dawned on me, some of u lot must've figured this out allready hehehe.
So am i better off with my heavies? or is it worth training for HAM's?

I'd stick with heavies considering that HAMs are very short range in comparison and the Nighthawk isn't exactly a speed demon.

Heavies, the DPS difference is somewhere near 7-8 with maxed skills.

I did do some figuring out. If we assume T2 launchers then very broadly: Rage HAMS do most damage Fury Missiles, are comparable to 'normal' HAMs Normal missiles comparable to javelin HAMs Precision missiles have no HAM equivalent.
So your real choice, is whether you want the Rage HAMs, or the precision (and FoF) heavies). In general, HAMs are the shorter range ones - fury heavy missiles aren't all _that_ long ranged, as heavy missiles go though.
Personally, I feel that BCs are just too slow to get away with a 15km missile, in the HAM. I'd stick with HMLs - Fury missiles are nearly as good as 'ordinary' HAMs, and have a significantly longer range (And better precision too).
I'd consider using HAMs on ships with a range/velocity boost, like the cerb or the caracal. Sadly, the latter just doesn't have the grid to make this worth while (you need a grid mod for a MWD, at which point you've just lost a BCU).

Does the CS bonus on the nighthawk apply to HAM? The discription says 5% bonus to heavy missile damage. Would be odd if it doesnt work for HAM. I understand why Amar only get bonus to HAM. But Caldari are the missile specialists. So they should get bonus to all missiles

C'mon - with maximum skills HAM's have potential damage 25% more than heavies. That is on cruiser+ size targets. You have several disadvantages like range, fitting, no FoF, slow speed etc etc BUT if you manage to make a short range setup HAMs will help you out. - I'm a nice guy!!
