I have gotten several good rewards from exploration, I got a Corpii A-type repairer from a high-sec escalation a few months ago. I've also gotten several faction items from an escalation (but lost all of them when our gang of a Drake and 2 Myrmidons got nossed dry and popped before we had time to warp out on the final stage). Mediciority, boredom and pain. Also known as sentient drones vel no-loot-for you.
Did I mention that they drop even less salvage than average rats? They do. --

THe drones marked as "sentient" give great salvage.

Then move out of high-sec empire. I've been finding wonderful sites in low-sec systems. Even found a site with a "Esoteric Ship Data Interface" 4-run BPC in a .3 system. They sold for 350M each.

It's very simple. It's this thing called risk versus reward. If I live in 0.0, and sacrifice ships/pods/isk to have access to 0.0, why would someone in high sec, who has ZERO risk, make the same amount of isk? Level playing field? Excuse me, this isn't kindergarten.
And what I don't get is why do empire dwellars need to make all the isk....for what? That spiffy high sec carrier/dreadnaught? Those 500 million isk vagabonds that can escape a dictor bubble? Sorry, you can't have those in high sec There are only so many Gist X-Type X-Large Shield Boosters that one will need. There is a general reason why null sec dwellers look down upon empire dwellers for the very same complaint you just posted. Been playing for 4 years and don't go to 0.0? Wow. I've been messing about in 0.0 sense I started and made craploads of isk along the way...but I EARNED it.
Sorry for the rant, but these things just nag at me

Oh yeah, awesome. Just a tad of T2 rig components.
Now, what do we need to get those? Get through the first stage of complex, filled with drone cruisers and battlecruisers. After slowboating the 70km between gates, killing 50 ships, we get to the other part.
Now we have an encounter filled with scrambling cruisers, frigates, some assorted battlecruisers and missile batteries. After killing initial battlecruiser spawn, battleships and *ONE* sentient drone drone spawn.

That's all I've gotten from "Radiance" in deep 0.0. Initial time investment, 20-30 minutes to get deadspace signature, 15 scans with a mag sift probe from 0.1au to get it. That would be total of 1.5h for finding it.
Clearing time, about three to four hours. Including hauling and salvaging.
Alloy price is about 24 mil, salvage price from those 100+ ships, dunno, 5-8 mil maybe? That would be 15 mil/head for the two of us who did it. For a 5 hour investment. That would be 3mil/h.
Using an assault frigate and just jumping from belt to belt semi-afk I can make two-three times that. And it doesn't require an expensive exploration ship, expensive probes, large time investment with salvaging.
I do admit that profession sites, such as radar or mag give out some loot after clearing, you can get about 400m3 of invention components or some nice faction/T2 BPC. But drone 'complexes' are utter rubbish. If those drones were replaced with corresponding pirate ships, the bounty alone would cover the salvage+alloys. And there would still be mods to be looted/reprocessed and some nice salvage, although native to the region, so the variety of salvage is the only bonus part of drones.
As for commanders. Sentient commander drone drops no loot, and no bounty. If you're lucky you'll get 5-10 mil worth of T2 salvage. While pirate commanders have 6mil bounty and drop faction mods which can be sold for a nice sum of 30mil+ usually.
Long story short, everything based on drones is really sub-par if you're looking for money. --

lol not going to happen. CCP wants EVE to closely emulate real life in a distant future. So what you say above, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, will naturally make its way in the game. Especially when you have the damn macros in the game to create more kaos. Eveything is attainable by anyone. If you choose solo then it will take longer than it would in a corp or alliance.
