Hey.
We finished killing a POS that came out of reinforced mode an hour after downtime today, However, we are still at the same POS 2 hours later.
Why you might ask? Well because of the endless Energy neutralizing batteries that are left and anchored once the POS goes.
To be honest with you CCP, Leftover modules should automatically be removed after the POS dies OR have their HP reduced to 1/1000th or whatever because this is seriously silly.

1) Increase resistance bonus from tower to 99.9% 2) Decrease structure HP by 1000x 3) ???? 4) Profit

I absolutely disagree --
*IF* Hardners were to be removed from a system, it should NEVER be when the system is contested.
Instead - just like the change in ownership of an Outpost, any remaining hardners, etc. from the conquered enemies POS Control Towers should be given to the winning Corp./ Alliance.
Further the Corp./ Alliance under attack should always have the ability to attempt a recovery of their hardners, etc. until the Corp./ Alliance has lost soverignty completely.
Spoils of War anyone?

Agreed. 15m hp of structure is insane.

How about clearing ownership on such abandoned POS modules? That is, allowing the winner to unanchor and steal them or the defender try and take them back. I highly dislike the whole "sit for an hour shooting incap'd mods" warfare.

Yeah totally agree with the Author.
Modules should have low structure hp but very high resists while the tower is up and automatic repairs preventing them from getting destroyed.
However, when the tower goes down, the resistance goes away and so does the structure repair = easy cleanup after a POS is dead.

If you want to put something up in its place, just petition it. GMs can take them down instantly. Leaving loads of POS guns or mods at a POS after the POS is destroyed is similar to the old "anchor a can to secure a moon", and I believe it is considered a borderline exploit. -----------------------------------------------

According to multiple petitions over the last few days, because POS guns cost money, it is not considered an exploit, and the GMs will not intervene.
The SIMPLEST solution is to make structure equal to armor amount, rather than the 3.33x armor amount that it is now. Offensive modules would become very difficult, rather than prohibitive, to take down while the tower is online, and the post-battle cleanup would be cut down to less than a third its current time. This would make the current strategem much less effective.

Edited by: Artmedis Valben on 22/08/2007 13:39:15 I would suggest that when a Tower pops all anchored structures within the control radius that aren't destroyed simply become unancored and anyone can scoop them.
The battle should be over once the Tower is destroyed

This is a good idea. Perhaps removing the ownership of the modules so that anyone with the appropriate skills and enough cargo space could unanchor them and scoop them up. It solves the issue of having to spend 8 hours wasting ammo on pos modules and allows the defenders a chance to get back some of what they lost. Seems like a fair system to me.
