The places where Officers spawn are deep within Alliance space, and heavily guarded by the Alliances that also wish to find them. It is academic whether ppl tell you where or how, as the chances of you getting there alive, nevermind being left alone long enough to find an Officer are astronomical.
Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

Look up Blood Raiders, Sansha, Serpentis, Guirista, and Angel Cartel in EVE. Then check to see what system their headquarters are in. That system is where their officers are most likely to spawn. The 2nd most likely place to find em is in the constellation and then region that their home system is in. Lastly they are sometimes found in any space that their regular soldiers are found in, but only the officers in the correct size class.
And yes, good luck killing an officer spawn unmolested if you're not in the local alliance.

The officer is in a BS - and is (I think) always guarded by 4 other BS.

if you have time and patience you can do it with okish odds, just system jump scanning each cluster of belts, will take a while though but you will bump into faction spanws along the way

I've killed a few and they are not hard to take down. Just lots of isk and not too well guarded.

First, officers only spawn in 0.0, dont bother with low-sec (though it does happen that faction spawns happen in low-sec and even high-sec, officers dont go there).
Second, Officers have the highest spawn chance in NPC-claimed space (e.g. Curse, Stain, etc). Not sure about their 'capital' (do they even have one?)
Third, Officers do spawn in player-alliance space. But usually its even more rare then in NPC-claimed space.
And yes, usually they are guarded by at least three other battleships, often the highest versions (triple 1.8m).
Its pretty rare to get one, I've only seen one in my almost 2 years in 0.0 now, but I've heard of others that have gotten multiple. A corp member of mine had two once in the same morning.

I have hit 5 officer spawns in my time. The first 3 were in Fountain. I hit Setelle Schelan TWICE in 24 hours...in same system. I then hit Tuvan in same system 6 days later. After that, it took me nearly a year to hit another officer spawn.
Officer spawns, like one of the guy above me said, are always guarded by 4 other BS. Officer spawn are always in a BS. Some are relatively easy to kill, others a bit harder. But here is a big tip: ALWAYS kill the officer first. Never kill any of the other ships first because just like any BS spawn, you kill the support first there is a big chance that the BS will warp off.
As far as what ships to use: up to you. A vagabond is a great ship for this as well because it has a high amount of DPS upclose and has a low signature radius which results in the BS of the spawn not hitting you enough to worry. I killed last officer spawn in my vagabond and only lost 20% of my shields.
Also needed to be added to a FAQ: you cannot chain a faction spawn. Anyone else who states otherwise is a flat out liar and is spreading disinformation.
