As it stand now the way Tech II BP's are being handed out - getting them from Research Agents after waiting forever for each one and with very little competition in the market the end result has been and will continue to be price bloat for all Tech II items including Tech II BPC's which means boys and girls unless you got mega-millions of isk just sitting around collecting dust we ain't gonna get to play with any Tech II modules or ships unless you happen to get one from a Research Agent.
This situation is rediculous ! Had Tech II simply replaced Tech 1 by way of Tech 1 items being removed from the market with Tech II BPO's being made available to all who had the isk to buy 'em the EVE economy market forces that givern prices would have taken over and Tech II BPC's would be made available at reasonable prices.
It's been going on 6 weeks since Castor was released and how many Tech II items are being sold ? Nearly none ! How many Tech II BPC's are being sold ? Nearly none ! Why ? Because any Tech II item or BPO is worth billions of isk simply because whomever holds one can ask way more than the value of the item with NO incentive or reason to sell to anyone for anywhere near reasonable prices. It would be like discovering a way to make lead into gold and you're the only person in the universe who can do that.
CCP needs to seriously rethink the way Tech II items are being distributed because at this pace it will be 2006 before there is enough competition in the marketplace to cause Tech II ship builders to want to make Tech II ships. Yeah, I know there are NO Tech II ship builder in EVE yet and this is my point ! There's only 1 Tech II ship that's even been identified by CCP and it's an Amarr Elite Frigate - guess this means unless you're researching Amarr Starship Engineering there's no way you gonna get the BPO for that one.
Come on CCP, give us Tech II now ! All this waiting is just going to destroy the EVE economy.
SWEET routinely sells BPC's in Sing Laison and Essence Regions. |

lol its SUPPOSED to be slow, and it's SUPPOSED to be expensive. Tech II is a higher standard, and haveing a ship outfitted with all Tech II equipment is quite an achievement.

How do you think its unfair if one person held the sole original to a idea or discovery IE a T2 BP.
Would think it unfair if you had ownership of such? And if you did have one would you keep it at a "low" price just to be nice? No its all for the isk. You would want to get as much as demand for your supply as you can get.
The reason why T2 isnt being distributed all at once is becuase it would destablise the market.
From what it sounds like is that you want T2 but you are frustrated at the price of it. The prices for these things will drop. And competition will happen. So I wouldnt worry much...just hurry up and wait. =) -------------------------- Vist the Jericho Fraction Forums

I know of 3 different corps who have a Gravametric backup array tech 2 BPO us being one of them.
Guess what, the tech 1 version BPO doesn't exist. So we are forced to pay a premium on tech 1 pirate drops to make them.
Thus we charge more for them.

Considering how badly the Tech 1 market is messed up, I'm glad they're going slow on Tech 2! If there are too few BPs and prices are too high, we can always just not BUY the item until more competition drives them lower (remember, the BP releases are ONGOING, not all at once). If they release too MANY and people start selling at a 10% markup and killing the profits, that's a lot harder to fix!

Until the relavant tech 1 BPs are released, you won't see the tech 2 stuff appear on the market in any quantity. We for one are sitting on ours until we have a reliable way of building them.

At the moment the T2 economy is completely screwed as people cannot manufacture the items as the T1 bp's are not in the game. Once they are rather more will be manufactured for sale. It would help a lot if they could be sold on the market rather than just escrow and trade channels.
Pricing will be a difficult issue. To make real money you need to be able to sell volume. This is how Techell were able to make a fortune on miner 2's. The price was at a level most people could afford with some effort for an item people found very useful. There will also be competition as there seems to be several bp's of each type dropped.
The bigger problem I see at the moment for T2 manufacturing, if it gets going in quantity, is the total nerf on T2 manufacturing mission rewards since the latest patch. Once the (admittedly large) amounts currently stored are used it would seem incredibly difficult to get more. I have been through 100's of missions since the last patch and have been offered no T2 items bar the odd skillpack

SO how come the miner 2 did not need a miner 1, morphite and some special components to build? --------------------------- (c) Copyright Saladin, 2005. Any editing of this post by a third party will be in violation United States Internet Copyright law 46525 of 2003. |

Edited by: Qual on 06/02/2004 11:34:01 The Miner II isn't "real" tech II. Never was. Thats why.
There ARE tech II out there at good prices. That is if Small Armour Repair II interest you... Or Micro Photon Smartbomb II...
