There have been some changes, which were posted a few days ago to the general rules.
There is now a 1 mil Tap Out fee, which must be paid if you want to tap out. While a fight to explosion is still preferred, this remains an option.
The Referee has the ability to stop the fight in the event of a stalemate, and reschedule or restart a match.
Rigs are still somewhat of a hot debate at this time, but an official announcement will be made Friday on that.

I don't want my ship exploded not because of rigs,I just dislike the fact of death of my metalic horse)
I use rigs only because kessie isn't best pvp ship, and it's the only friggie I can fly well..)
so I'd still prefer not to remove rigs

Prizes are starting to pool up! The competition is biting at the bit to get some action!
Saturday, we will see the second round of the Open tournament, and with final prizes hovering over 40mil so far, fighters actually have something to fight for!
The Racial Tournament has seen significantly less participation than the open, but participants are still hopeful that the competition will heat up.
Will our champion return for a third fight? Will foxische come back and go all the way this time? Will Camuran be able to break his seeming curse and finish higher than 3rd place? Or will a newcomer be the new star of the show and take it all? We'll find out Saturday, 1600 eve time, as round 2 of the EVE UFC Season 1 Open Tournament commences and the explosions ring out!
See you there!

All ships are scanned by the referee prior to the fight beginning. Rigs show up in a ship scan.

I was just wondering if the faction ammo goes under the faction stuff ban. All i've seen in the rules is no faction mods, but ammo doesn't exactly go into mods

Apologies go out to all of the fighters and spectators that were looking forward to the event on Saturday. Due to some technical difficulties, the coordinaters were unable to log in. We will be holding the next tournament this Saturday as planned, in Abudban, 1600 Eve Time. Expect higher than normal prizes as we were unable to dish them out this last weekend!
There are only a few more events left to secure your seat in the Championship round for a chance at a Faction Frigate of the winners choice, as well as large isk prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.
This will also be the last week that the events are held in Minmatar space for this season, as they will be moving up to Caldari space for the next go round. We'll see you there!

Hi Gin,
is there a new date when the Minmatar racial tournament is battled? On 8. September there wasn't enough participants.
Greetings, Laurent

Our champ is back for some more action, with a few newcomers trying to take his throne! Who has what it takes to win tonight? We shall soon find out!

It was a fun night, with a little less than we are used to, the competition was no less fierce.
Abudban saw an increase in violence as the matches kicked off, and with a few spectators lining the edge of the arena, it was that much more glorifying.
Our roster for the night was: Tursakeh in an Incursus Thorexian in an Incursus Ghengis in a Kestrel PieOh in a Kestrel Laurent in a Breacher and of course, Saint Lazarus in his trusty Punisher.
With slight rule changes from the last event, and the lag of rigs, the competition seemed more open and friendly for all players, as it was much less of an isk war, and winning depended on how you flew your ship.
Ghengis paired up against PieOh for the first fight of the night, which proved to be a match of many firsts. It was our first missile boat vs missile boat match, as well as the first time we had seen ECM. The gamble of ECM vs Tank proved the deciding factor, as PieOh was able to edge out Ghengis in a fairly close battle.
Tursakeh vs Thorexian, the second match of the night, seemed to be a race of dps. Both choosing to start at 0km, we began at point blank range. Blasters firing, it was close until Tursakeh was able to edge out Thorexians tank and claim victory.
Our defending two time champion, Saint Lazarus, faced off against Laurent, and we were all wondering how the lack of rigs would effect the champ. He proved good form as he charged in hard and fast, and was able to take out the Breacher and cruising into the finals of the day.
The only semi final match of the night was between PieOh and Tursakeh, wondering who would win, blasters or missiles. Starting at mid range, lack of speed from Tursakeh meant he was unable to close range fast enough, and was beaten down by volley after volley of missiles. Once in range, he was already dipping into structure, and wasn't able to beat the damage, and went down in flames. It was a great match that could have gone either way.
The last match of the night, hardened veteran vs newcomer, everything started in good spirits and jests. Securing a tap out agreement, the two fighters took their positions, and began the fight with 20km separating them. Closing the distance fast, the MWD of Saint proved a double edged sword as missiles rocked him hard, dropping his shields almost instantly. PieOh was able to keep range pretty decently, and seemed like they would hold their own. Once in web range, the two battled it at at close range, racing towards victory. The cannons of Saint managed to eat away at PieOh's shields, and tore through his armor. Barely able to stop 3/4 through structure, PieOh's tap out request was honored.
Saint again let everyone know he was made of champion material, and walked away with 1st place. PieOh's very first ever pvp experience ever, was definately misleading, as he fought like a pro and took a dominant 2nd place. Tursakeh, another new face in the EVE UFC walked away with a well earned 3rd place.
Due to a 3 way tie for 4th place, points were awarded for the championship round chase to the remaining fighters.
We spent some time in a Q and A session in the EVE UFC channel, talking about the future of the tournament and what would be coming up next.
A web page is in the works, which will offer easier access to info on matches, a killboard for the tournament, and more utilities to help make it the best event in Eve. The matches are headed to Caldari space next, after a few week break, just prior to the championship round. 2 new leagues will be featured in the next season, Unlimited and Ultimate, which will allow no fitting restrictions and much bigger prizes. A few changes may occur for season 2 as far as how the championship is ran, but that is still in developement. We are still looking for a few more referees, and of course more fighters. If you would like to join our staff, please contact me directly.
As always, we hope to see you at the fights!

Suppose I'm in, say, a plated Rifter with MWD, and my opponent is in an AC Punisher with no MWD (booster and web.) We start at 20k and when I see he's in a Punisher I guess that probably he can kill me in a close range fight. But I'm way faster, since he has no way to even come close to catching me within web range. He can't do anything without MWD and I can't kill him. Is it a draw? What happens?

well if you have AC on teh Rifter and need to get close to fire you cant do anything outside of web either and I suppose if you just run around for 20 minutes with no intention of engaging it would have to be called a draw what else can ya do

Gin Moon's been a little busy with real life at the moment.
For the time being its being temporarily suspended but it should be restarted as soon as we sort some logistics out.
For the time being, evemail me if you would like to be evemailed updates about the competition and to be reminded of the dates of the match=ups when the competition gets going again.
