After reading this guy's posts, and seeing how upset he is, I firmly believe he didn't just lose isk.
This is the kind of reaction that happens when someone buys isk online, and then loses the stuff he bought with it.
I'd love to see the killmail. I'm betting there was stuff in there he couldn't possibly have afforded through honest work. ----------------------------------------------- Could someone tally how many times this topic has been beat to death? |

Originally by: Holfam Damily I fully sympathize with Desolacer. First, I agree there should be no pirating in high sec. space--at least none that pays the perps. The way police respond to criminal acts in Eve is unusual, in that it is all but instantaneous. In RL, getting shot at or killed rarely occurs with police presence b4 the whole thing is over. Police response in Eve is even more unusual in another way. In RL, should the police happen to be present while you were being shot or killed, your body and belongings certainly would not be left lying around to be plundered by anyone who felt like doing so. Your remains and your property would be protected. Since the police are on the scene, this should be so in Eve too--at least in .5 space and above.
I say leave pvp to those who wish to engage in it, and let them engage in it with one another in .4 and below space. No doubt there will be howls about this not being hello kitty on-line--the loudest howls, no doubt, from those who then wouldn't get to play "hello kitty" in the form of pvp in high sec versus those who don't wish to play and have not the skills to threaten the big, bad, nasty old pvp'ers who are so ready to inflict the gritty side of Eve on the ill-prepared. I bet many pvp'ers aren't so eager to take on ONLY others who have the same skills as themselves, and the same proclivities.
There will be much "WAH, WAH, WAH'ing," but it won't be from those who simply wish to have the police in the game function as police do in real life--to keep the criminals from freely practicing their desires among those not so inclined. I for one don't enjoy having things stolen from me, whether in RL or in a game. I enjoy it even less when I realize the loss occurred because another person, in RL somewhere, someone I don't know and have not provoked, has simply decided that what I have is something that person is entitled to take. That is a crimnal mentality. Whether in a game or in RL. I have no use for it in either place.
As for the consequences of this loss on Desolacer, I can only say I feel for him. None of the "ppl" who so casually dismiss the losses of another can know what those losses meant in RL. Maybe a promise needs to be broken that was made to a child, who will not understand. I don't know; but I do know it's easy to dismiss the pain of others. Sorry for your loss. Eve is full of bullshi* contradictions like the cops warping in on you, as if by magic, instantaneously, then not acting like cops at all. Maybe someday CCP will get it that they need to make places for pvp and those who wish to avoid that sort of thing. It isn't too much to ask--only those who wish to prey on others think that it is.
First, this is a PVP game, through and through. CCP wants pirating in High Sec. Deal with it.
Second, you're right. Yes, I said it. BUT WAIT! What are you right about?
The way Police respond in Eve IS Unusual. You know why? BECAUSE THIS IS A FREAKING SPACE GAME!
If real life police showed up and acted in real life ways when you get PVP'd, you know how they would respond?
They'd start by losing EVERY FREAKING FLUID IN THEIR BODIES! Because they are in SPACE!
As for leaving PVP to those who wish for it: It has been said many times, by the devs themselves.
When you log into Eve, you are accepting that you may be forced into non-consentual pvp. Do you know what that means?
Just by LOGGING IN, You are AGREEING to accept the risks of PVP. Therefore, you obviously WANT to PVP.
