You guys suck at making patches, Now I have to download the full client, a 2-1/2 hour download. By the way check the patch servers, there is probably 2 or 3 bad versions of the patch on there that you forgot to delete before going live.

Ocured after the patch. I have 2 computers, stationary and a laptop. Eve installation on the laptop patched fine. And works. Eve installation on the stationary experiences the error.
Steps taken : - Uninstalled the client, deleted everything eve related. - Copied working eve installation from laptop to stationary via a usb stick, it results in the error above (wich is weird, does the crc check have something to do with some kind of pc id ?). - Reinstalled the client, same error. - Reinstalled the client once more, using bin downloaded from front page, same error as above. - Posted here :)
Problem solved, i clicked a file yesterday without virusscanning it first. Rebooted, widows wouldn't load completly, Format C: ftw. Eve works now from a freshly downloaded client. ----------------------

More and more i get the feeling it is time to leave this game. Why ? Because developers are apparently loosing contact with the spirit of their game.
Examples ?
Booster in now for more than 6 Month, nobody is using them. Even if CCP start tweaking them into something usable, the whole concept is destabilzing PvP hence decreasing fun instead of increasing. Complex games are fun games (at least for smart people), so more complex games are more fun ?? NO ! There is a cut-off. Chess with more than six types of chessmen would not be more fun cause it spawns already enough complexity. The mistake CCP is making here is extending the complexity to something, where you have 20 types of chessmen and you pull the chessmen randomly from a bag ... => lottery but no strategy fun anymore
This fundamental missunderstanding of Fun and Game-Complexity in MMOs was tested years ago with Ultima Online with the Age of Shadows patch, which marked a sharp decline of customers.
If you want to increase the fun you should not put more complexity into a already sufficently complex game mechanics, but into something orthogonal something totally new.
Heat Yet another pointless concept, making PvP gameplay more arbitrary and less strategic
POS warfare the relocation of the POS armament did NOTHING to the core problem with POS warefare actually it even made problems with blobing even worse.
recent Examples?
Rev 2.2. patches
Interdictor warp disrupt probes will now prevent warp, even if the warp is already initiated.
Current standard strategy is in many scenarios to initate warp and then drop a bubble and let you mates finish the hostile off. That is gone now The net effect is, that the interdictor becomes even more a suicide ship than it was before. Fun? i dont think so !
You can no longer generate a cyno field within a Starbase force field.
what is the ******** point of this ?????? the most lame tactics in PvP is bumping. While titan bowling used to be an expoit where supercapitals tried to warp into a hostile POS and bumped out unmanned ships, CCP just reintroduced here the concept "Capital Bowling" in reverse. Fun ? Mabye for the frig pilot that bumps a capital out of range of POS before they enter forcefield... but is it really FUN to use the most lamest tactics to kill the most expensive ships at the cost of nothing ?
opening cynos within forcefields used to be an intended game mechanic for more than what ? 2 years ? Who was so arrogant and decided that it needed to be changed ?
Coupling arrays and other silos no longer reprocess into too many minerals compared to their buy price.
This is the probably the most scathing patch piece within 2.2. While CCP was confronted with a large protest movement from their customers ,when they disclosed their planning for mineral compression of low value minerals, they decided to stealth patch the pricing for it and label a common practice used since inception of the china server and also commonly used on Tranquility to lower the burdens for high volume needs for low priced minerals as an "exploit" thus avoiding the enragement prior disclosing the final patch notes.
Mining is a quite boaring profession in this game, making it more lucrative does not make it more fun. This is a sandbox ! Who are you, that you force people into a certain gameplay by nerfing others.
Sorry, but my conclusion for the whole Revelation expansion and 2.2. in particular is, that CCP looses more and more connection to the gameplay and spirit of this game defined by their customes and becomes more and more glueless about customers needs and wishes ... such as SOE with Star Wars galaxies
/sarcasm_on When do we get the EVE:New Game Enhancements patch ? /sarcasm_off

I really have to agree with most of this. More and more it seems that CCP changes things, but have no real idea how they will turn out. Such as the hated mineral compression nerf. You guys had no transitional plan or any real concept of what it was going to do to many players. Just bam, no compression anymore lol good luck. That idea as it was presented should have been knocked down after a couple design meetings. A better choice would have been to get alternative mechanics in place with an announced and ordered phaseout. But you never seem to do that, you always put the cart before the horse.
Along with the statements in Talron's post and the disingenuous nature of the coupling array nerf. I would say the stated purpose of the "Need for Speed" series of patches really hasn't panned out. The server is slightly more responsive. On the other hand the cluster crashed every other day until recently. Also players constantly desync under load or are just plain lagged out. The server doesn't crash, but you still can't do anything.
I guess the problem is CCP promises a whole bunch but really doesn't deliver on key items a lot of the time. Hell, something simple like the item database being updated in a timely manner still hasn't happened. Or the eve "players guide", eve mobile, various tool improvements.
Is there some ultra huge patch that totally remakes eve in the works besides the DX10 client? If so let us know.

First off patch deployment worked first time by me no problems there well done
Problems and criticism: Skilltraining:
When I change a skill the white box by the current skill training flashes white, if I close the char sheet then reopen it, the white box disapears, its not the end of the world just wanted to point it out.
Rouge Drone commanders:
Firstly thanks for eventually giving them to us and for fixing our astroid belts and looking at the respawn rate.
But are they meant to suck that much? I have a few friends that found some in the belts ( I havent personally yet, only in plexes till now). Lets compare rouge drone Commanders to the other NPC commander spawns:
Rouge commander spawn: Usually NO LOOT, NO BOUNTY, SOMETIMES salvages for t2 salvage and SOMETIMES you get NOTHING.
Normal commander spawn: ALWAYS loot sometimes faction sometimes not, BIG FAT BOUNTY, sometimes salvages for T2 sometimes not.
Is this meant to be like this?? I dont find this is balanced CCP could someone please comment on that.
Thanks
Sinder.

Hello,
im very angry about CCP. I feel cheated. I tested EVE about 3 days, encountered i cant handle an industrial while in trial period. So I signed up, just on Monday. Everything went fine until this patch came out. Im a Linux user! I bought cedega+EVE to have gaming pleasure. I melted about 40.00 EUR for nothing.
I tested arround with cedeaga and with wine. The entries in the prefs.ini do not work! Im very sorry, but if CCP is not going to act on this soon, then Ill close my account just after 1 day gaming pleasure.
Tanks to CCP! I hope you wont shrug your shoulders on this, I guess there are many linux gamers, which feel exactly the same like me on this.

Interdictor and warp bubbles: so you want total inpunity for interdictors? Warpi, warp out, drop bubble, block other ship from warping but you warp safetly?
Cyno field in POS - I have seen a lot of threads and posts lamenting 0 risk pos refueling and hauling with jumpships. It is not my field of work but it seem a reasonable change.
POS items refining in a larger mineral value than the cost of the item or in a so large mineral quantity to effectively capping mineral prices? For you that is a positive feature? For me it is an exploit as POS modules are NPC produced and sold and the esistence of similar modules is effectively damaging all the mining player activity.

Maybe, but my firewall isn't raising any flags, and i can't check my firewall since Norton is like crazy crappy good for nothing. So that might be the problem, but the eve client says its a problem with the server.

Wrangler,
There must have been some power grid changes to the Sacrilege that have not been listed. The previously working 3 laser, 3 heavy assault missile launcher load out I had working prior to the patch now doesn't seem to work.
This doesn't seem to be listed in the patch notes. It seems quite a significant loss of about 86-87 power grid.
Was this planned/expected, or is this a buggette?

This doesn't seem to be listed in the patch notes. It seems quite a significant loss of about 86-100 power grid (after skills).
Was this planned/expected, or is this a buggette?
The load that used to work is listed as follow, just for working reference to see for yourselves whatever change may have been made to power grid that wasn't listed:
High Slot Modules: 3 x Heavy Modal Pulse Laser I 3 x 'Arbalest' Heavy Assault Missile Launcher I
Mid Slot Modules: 1 x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners 1 x Target Painter II 1 x X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator 1 x Cap Recharger II
Low Slot Modules: 2 x Medium Armor Repairer II 1 x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1 x True Sansha Energized Thermic Membrane 1 x Capacitor Power Relay II
from the dev blog in the patch notes:
Sacrilege (Heavy Assault Ship)
* Hardpoints: 5 launchers (+2), 4 turrets (no change) * Fitting: 400tf (+50tf), 1030mw (-70mw) * Sensors: 260mm scan res (+25mm), 50,000m max targeting range (-10,000m) * Propulsion: 205m/s (+30m/s), 12,000,000kg (-155,000kg)
Bonuses
* 5% bonus to Heavy Assault Missile damage per Amarr CC level * 5% bonus to armor resistances per Amarr CC level (no change) * 5% reduction of capacitor recharge time per HAS level * 5% reduction of missile launcher ROF per HAS level
The improved speed and mass helps getting the ship in close, though it remains slightly worse than for the Zealot. The armor resistance and capacitor recharge bonuses allow the Sacrilege to field a very hard tank, which helps it to compete against blaster ships (with its relatively lower damage output).

I don't know when this feature got removed, but I noticed it yesterday after patch, when doing a mission after long time:
Keep at range menu now lacks the option to set a custom distance. There are only predefined distances and current distance. The Custom feature disapeared.
It's a nuisance when trying to keep at optimal range from rats (targets in general). Maybe this got removed in some earlier patch, but I noticed it only yesterday.

Tanks to CCP! I hope you wont shrug your shoulders on this, I guess there are many linux gamers, which feel exactly the same like me on this.
I hope to hear about this soon.
While Linux is not currently an 'officially' supported Operating System we work with our partner to try to ensure that EVE works with Cedega. Unfortunately most of our efforts recently have been on testing the new officially supported client and other issues crept through.
Trangsgaming are working on a patch for the issue which should solve the problem. Alternately you can disable the sound and voice via the prefs.ini file and this works as well.
make sure the following lines are in your prefs.ini file
audio=0 audiodriver=0 voiceenabled=0
The last line should be in ALL Linux client pref files as EVE Voice is not currently supported under Linux.
I hope that this answers your questions.
