For all those who loved delierious and raw when eddie murphy was in his prime, i just read an article where he said in the next 2 years hell be doing standup again. however he wants to get material that will blow delerious and raw out of the water. im getting real excied about this being a huge eddie murphy fan :) --------------------

Laying down odds that 80% of his new material will be based on paternity-suit jokes.

Like Peter Kay named his tour 'Mum wants a bungalow' I hope Eddie follows suit and names his tour:
'My estranged daughter needs to go to private school, because I drunkenly shagged a beast of a spice girl'
If its half as good as delirious then its fine by me :)

The only ones worth to watch besides Richard Pryor of the black stand up artists is Chris Rock. The rest is just doing the stereo typical jokes (and badly) about the differences between black and white people.
It would be nice if Eddie suceeded though.

I loved Raw, but Eddie is older now and I doubt he has the same... energy... he used to have. Still, looking forward to seeing it. :)

Just like George Carlin is older and doesnt have the energy he used to have, aka jumping around the stage, doing those various accents and impressions but he still is hillarious.
Age gives you so much more things to complain and joke about. Though jokes in which you complain has become Georges speciality

Almost exactly my thoughts. Looks like somebody needs money after little Eddie did most of the thinking lately.

It could be good, as long as it doesnt involve any fatsuits.

Eddie Murphy's stand up in the past is funny but on the whole alittle dated homophobic and based on stereotypes for its humour. I don't think the American audience of today, especially the Black audience Murphys' humour was aimed at in the past, would welcome it as much as they have done.
Why?
The world has moved on and Murphy has, perhaps, not. You only have to look at Murphys recent "comedy" works such as Norbit...though was a #1 box office opener.
