Edited by: mamolian on 02/09/2007 01:55:35 During the recent siege in my alliance's home system myself and corpies discovered an interesting side effect of how fighters operate.
Anyone whos used them know of course that they follow you in warp, when assigned or when deployed by the carrier. You'll notice that as the player enters warp, the fighters disappear off grid, to give the effect that they are after following the target/assigned player/deployed carrier. What actually happens, is the fighter is "teleported" 100 au out in a random direction in a sphere from where it left grid So.. Anyone who happens to have a Deep Space Observator Probe deployed and scanning.. can get hits easilly on those fighters as they await the player they were following to exit warp.
Apparently when a carrier crashes and looses fighters for what ever reason.. they are also teleported out and remain at those locations. If you see fighters popping up and off scanner using probes, their following a player.
Anyone else aware of ways to make deep safespots since the change to the accuracy on scanprobes? I'd really love to hear :)

Interesting to know if true, however I don't see how you can scan down fighters, warp to, and start hitting them before the person they're attached to exits warp wherever he was going. ---

he wasn't after the drones. he was after locations, far away from scan range of probes.

"hits" as in scan results...

so if its "far away from scane range of probes" then how can you find those locations with probes in the first place?

If someone is safespotted far enough out that you need an observator probe to find them, they can ctrl + q while aggressed and they'll probably still vanish before you can scan all the way over to them. Observator only has a sensor strength of 1.25, it will take MANY scans to find what you're looking for.

I think the use of deep safe spots are like an exploit now, not sure on that though.

why should that be an exploit when there are probes to scan down exactly such spots? deepsaves are really save tho as the probability of someone scanning you down to within overview is negligible with deepspace probes, so you just need to check for probes with your 360¦ scanner.
oh and...
