My current Drake fitting is: 6x Heavy Missile Launcher II 1x Large Shield Booster 1x Phased Prototype Warp Inhibitor I 1x Heat Dissipation Amplifier I 2x Shield Recharger I 1x Large Supplemental Barrier Emitter I
I try to Rat in 0.0 which I do fine in but my cap goes really quickly. I need something to work towards. In the end I would like to be able to PvP with my fleet but I need to make some money in the mean time.
What would you guys suggest I switch & learn skills towards?

i'd go with:
7 x heavy (I or II) 1 x proto cloak (saves your ass)
3 x large shield extender (I or II, T2 is far better) 3 x rat specific hardened (2 x primary, 1 x secondary dmg)
2-3 Ballistic (again t2 is far more better) 1-2 something, PDU, reactor control if short on PG or maybe a damage control
you should be ok with tech I, and it's helluva lot cheaper. tech II makes life easier, but doubles the ship price.
if money is no issue:
7 x heavy T2 1 x proto cloak
2 x large extender II 4 x shield recharger II
4 x shield power relay II
rigs: 3 x core defence field purger (shield recharge rig)
its mandatory to have all tech II.
the passive regen is approx 440 dps / sec
counting resistances in, its about 900 dps, passive, absolutely no need for cap, other than warping.
you could add light shield boost drones for giggles :D
this setup tanks sentries with ease.

you cannot use shield maintenance bots on yourself and isn't 3 large shield extender II better? - I'm a nice guy!!

Shield drones can only boost other people, unfortunately.
Though they can boost each other. Get a combat drone, then a shield drone boosting it, then a another boosting that, and so on, and you get a nice snake line. Order the combat drone to attack something, and the rest will all rush to follow, one by one.

yes, your correct - 3 x large extender II's & 3 x shield recharge II's is better than 2 extenders and 4 rechargers.
i get even more dps regen with 4 x large ext II's & 2 x recharger II's! 414 dps regen.
I have some kind of illusion that i have had 441 regen somehow.
my bad! :)

Well, I got 7x Heavy Missiles II but I can only fit 1 Shield Extender II because of the power load. Is there some piece im missing because I don't see how you can fit any more than that?
