What should I do with all this ore? My mining/refine is currently just at 3,and the stations just wont buy the refines sometimes.Should I just stick to selling to stations (I dont mind to mine for hours,I just want ISK),or should I just amass a massive ammount (what would a LOT of refines ,what number?) and seek players wanting to buy. Also, what are normal prices for ores,so I dont get ripped off.I.e veldspar just gives trit, scord gives pyerite and trit etc,I guess people only buy refines, but I could be wrong.
Thanks offhand

You could hire somebody to refine it for you ?

...and if you use the market you can see which stations in the region will buy your ore at the NPC price... Then its just a case of humping it there...
If you really have lots of ore you can always try and sell it on the TRADE channel (which takes a little getting used to)

Edited by: Reynolds Gerald on 10/02/2004 11:02:51 Does a specialized skill on refining make a huge difference?
And is scordite profitable? I mean its easy to find and quite safely, and I heard that it sells easy. And please define ¦¦lots`` :) lots..10K ore? 100K? a million ? a gazilion?

Scordite mining can be profitable of you mine a lot of it... The minerals it produces can be sold easily for NPC prices.
A miner in a BS can make well over 1 mill isk mining scord per hour... Even in a cruiser you can make a reasonable salary...
One tip you could try:
Create an alt character. Give it basic hauling skills. Get it an industrial. Take it out to the belt you want to mine in. Log out (in belt) and log in with your main 'mining' character. Start mining into regular jettison can (don't try this in busy area with lots of passerbys) Keep refreshing can by dropping a new one occasionally and dragging ur mined ore into the new can (jettison cans expire after baout 1hr) When the jettision can is full log out your miner (in the belt) and log in your hauler alt. Hauler can empty jettison can in about 2/3 runs back to station depending on skills. This VASTLY cuts down time spent a) ferrying all the stuff back to station everytime your miners cargo hold gets full or b) going back to station to get Indy when your precious ore will be unguarded.
As said above this should only be tried in safe and quiet systems where someone will not come by and nick some of the ore while u are in hauling mode!
It is a risk but generally it pays off!

Can you run two copies of the game ? I've done this before with other mmorpgs. I did need two accounts however, but then you can have 2 alts logged in, one mining, one hauling. This would reduce the risk of ore stealing as you have your hauler take it back to station before there's too much ore in the container for his hold.
BTW, I'm pretty new to EVE (heh like 4 days), so if this makes no sense just ignore me ;)

You can run two accounts simultaneously in windowed mode if you have a very decent spec PC.
Whenever I log in my two accounts one of the two will crash...

Oh yes I forgot to mention...
People who mine Scord in battleships in safe systems are generally despised by the majority
Just so you know
