Last night I logged on to find one of my corpie fly around in a Vigilant and it brought back memories of how much i love that ship. it was great at what i wanted it to do.
so i was just wondering, as i know nothing about the other faction cruisers, what 1 would win if they were paired off against each other in a massive faction cruiser brawl? Chuck Norris played the eve beta. But when he fit a roundhouse kick to his ibis it caused the collapse of the eve gate, the minmatar to revolt, the jove to go into excile and drones turned stupid. |

Caracal Navy Issue can have awesome gank and speed. Same for the stabber fleet issue. They're just regular versions that are generally easier to fit with more options (more slots).
Gila suffers from a split weapon system, it could use 2 extra rail hardpoints if CCP wants to extend the caldari railboat line, or 3 more missile hardpoints in order to keep the tradition.

Dont know the cruor but the phantasm has HP on par with most battlecruisers and hefty tank indeed.

Edited by: Contralto on 05/09/2007 11:18:07 Navy Vexor is like a mini Hac with extra armor instead of resists
standard Vex 1485 armor
Navy Vex 2461 outright winner here!
Ishtar 1618
figures for structure and shields are also enhanced.
drone capacity vex 75m3 navy Vex 100m3
velocity Vex 170 Navy vex 180 Ishtar 190
slots vex 5-3-4 only 4 turret hardpoints
Navy vex 5-3-6 I fit mine with 5 "Hustler" cosmos Blasters, 7 T2 medium Drones and 6 T2 lights. the 6 lows make for a great tank or high damage fit, 2 magstabs and can still fit a reasonable tank, needs a PG rig or a Pdu to run the 5 Hustlers though.
Ishtar 5-5-5 so more suited to pvp I guess.
navy has more Cpu than the Ishtar and the same pg.
and all three have the 10% drone damage and hp bonus.
now the bummer they cost about the same so its a sure win for the Ishtar with its Domi sized drone bay and pvp mid slots
but I would think the Navy Vex will more than compete on Dps with the other faction cruisers. fitted as above.

Cruor is the BR faction frig. The Ashimmu is the cruiser, I believe. It's okayish, would be nicer with an extra mid and extremely nice with two, but it goes against their ship line. The web bonus is very nice, but hard to put to good use with so few mids. I don't find it all that impressive.
The phantasm has a split weapon system, unfortunately.
The Vigilant (serpentis) is great for a faction cruiser. Hampered a bit by being a close-range ship (meaning, when you do engage, it could go badly since you can't bugger out), but still, a great ship.
I'd vote for one of these two, though: The Fleet Issue Stabber is basically used as a mini-vaga and is probably one of the best, just because of the ability to survive and incredible agility (don't have EFT atm, but I'm preety sure it's more *agile* then even the Vagabond).
The Cynabal could be used as a mini-Vaga (more lows and more damage and tracking then the Stabber / Fleet Stabber, but one less midslot and somewhat slower & heavier).

Ashimmu is the faction cruiser yes, It used to be really nice with nos and webber bonus, but now that ccp ruined the nos, it will suck somewhat more but still be decent. But no longer worth 70 mil.
The Caracal navy on the other hand is a rather good ship, It can be fitted in varius ways, One good way is for speed and dps, Dunno what stats it gets but its pretty awsome. Another way is to passive tank it with 3 large shield extenders + 2 hardners, Shield purge rigs and ofcourse those shield regen stuffies in low slots. Gives aprox 11 k shields and regens 60 @ peak per second.
The navy augoror on the way has a pretty hefty 10 percent bonus to tank per lvl.
So i guess it all comes down to what you are gonna use it for and what race you are ;)

i've flown all the faction cruisers, and i by far, think that the stabber fleet issue should take the win. it's the closest you can get to a hac without actually training hac(it's the ship i flew while training for the vagabond). for only about 150 mil, you can fit a stabber fleet to go 4.5km/s with two gyro's, and a 19km fall-off. it also has the same slot layout as the vagabond(it's just missing one gun hardpoint). it's the only faction cruiser that i'd fly around in pvp, simply because it shares so many traits with the vagabond that can help keep it alive(decent damage, decent tank, and can usually escape the fight if it needs to).
last stabber fleet i had, i made over 20 solo kills in it in amamake before finally having it popped because of a roid that i bumped into and it threw me right into the grasp of a myrmi's web/nos =P i seriously wouldn't risk any other faction cruiser in pvp, especially since everybody seems to like to blob these days.

The Fleet Stabber is definitely nice, and is probably the best at getting out of hairy situations, but any Fleet Stabber that goes toe to toe with a Cynabal is a wreck just waiting to happen.
With Minnie Cruiser Lvl 5 the Cynabal gets a 25% ROF bonus, and a 25% damage bonus. Then, to top it all off, it gets a 7.5% tracking bonus per Gallente Cruiser level.
With a tank setup with 2 damage mods, the Cynabal still goes 2.5km/sec, and does over 400DPS. _______

Navy Vexor and Navy Caracal are both strong contenders.
Though while I don't know the Cynabal, the numebrs gives there sure sound sweet

Navy Augoror is the best bait ship in the game.
Also very good at popping small ships with artillery 2x SB II and 1x warp disrupt II =P ---

Possibly, but it's very close to a Fleet Stabber. I'll probably buy one over the Fleet Stabber just for the looks (and, well, I like the bonuses despite the somewhat inferior speed/agility) when I skill up enough to be comfortable in one.
