"What a ride ! The Primae worked so smoothly, it was really good. And that landing, I don't even felt it, just perfect. Well now time for some fun in this rock.
Being the man in charge of the "Brain" module of this project didn't gave me much to do inside the ship. But now it's time to get going with... how did the captain called it? Ah ! Big step two.
"Stranson ! get your ass over here NOW !"says the captain through the intercom. "On my way captain." I say back to him.
While walking to the cargo hold I begin to think about this... this massive structure that I have to move out of the ship. How the hell am I going to do it !? I know we planned how to do it, but this is the first time we actually do it. Will be a real pain in the ass if I fail. My boss will throw me in a wormhole for the Sleepers to get me, haha. I hope not.
Finally Here I'm, let's get this thing out of the ship. "OK people let's move it !" I say to everyone.
The cargo hold doors begin to open. While opening, I can see a barren world. So limited atmosphere, we need to use suits to breathe here. The doors are opened.
"OK people, start phase two !" I say to everyone.
The engines start, the cargo hold shakes a bit, as usual in every ship removing cargo from their cargo holds. The floor extends to the outside while carrying the massive structure. For safety reasons the are also 3 cranes holding it from the ceiling, their arms extend to the outside too.
It is out. Now the floor is being retracted and just the cranes hold the massive structure.
"OK people, phase three, let it land smoothly in the ground." I say to everyone.
It begins to descend, just a few meters, like 6 or 7. A few minutes later, touch...
"Excellent work crew, really good." I say to everyone.
The cranes begin to retract. Now I have to go outside a begin the deployment of this thing. The hard part is done, my ass won't get to a sleeper station any soon haha.
The cargo hold doors are closing. The Primae is ready to depart. Leaving us here to complete the job. Of course we will not be alone, the principal support ship will stay here just in case.
The shiny silver ship is taking off. Its engines don't make too much noise, but they are noisy. So much power needed in such a big ship to take off, they have to be noisy hehe. Slowly going up to space, it will warp back to the station. Some people will see if it has any structural damage, engine fluctuations, any problem. Well time for some work or I won't get paid hehe.
"OK people, let's deploy this baby and make it work." I say to everyone.
Just a few more hours and it'll be ready."
5 hours later.
"It's done, deployed and ready to start. If it doesn't work it won't be my problem, I didn't design it hehe.
"OK Heyes, turn it on." I say to my subordinate.
Primary systems online. Life support online. Hydrogen cells online. Secondary systems online. Light system online. Water treatment online. Solar harvester online. Emergency energy reserves full.
Finally ! Oh man I was so anxious. Now we can take off these damned plastic suits and breathe artificial fresh air... well... not too much difference... but it is nice to be out of the suit hehe.
Solar panels looking good. Hydrogen cells fully functional, perfect. It's is producing its own power, no need of secondary power plants.
So much power. Well it has too hold so many modules working at the same time.
"Boss, Planetary Command Center working at a 100%" says Heyes. "Excellent, run a full diagnosis, as soon it finishes tell "The Needle" to begin their deployment." I say to Heyes.
So many modules, "The Highway", "The Holder", "The Producer" and "The Needle" the most important one after "The Brain".
I hope they work. No. I don't hope so. I know they'll work
Otherwise we all are going to be kicked into a wormhole haha."
Extracted from Arian Stranson's diary. Chief of "The Brain" deployment. Now director of Command Center's manufacture facility in the ORE company. |
