Yea sure, I'll help, just open remote... ok... (you ships start getting dragged into a trade window, wallet suddenly goes dry...) and that's how you scam in Eve! Goodluck {link closed}
Sorry, that's the first thought that went through my head, and I'm not even a griefer these days. I'm sure your suggestion is well intended, but anything like this would cause a lot more harm to new players than good. There's no way CCP can close every loophole and build in enough safeguards for something like this. |

WHY ARE SCROLL LISTS SHORT AS HELL!?
It's a pain to scroll up and down to pick between Character search and Solar System in People & Places. There is plenty of room on the screen to display all of the options. This applies to most of the scroll lists in EVE. |

Intel HD Graphics Bugs / No Workarounds !!
Please like this post so we can get some attention if this problem has affected you !!
Many of us have reported problems with our Intel chipset graphics, only to be politely told by support that it is not CCP's fault, it is all Intel's fault, so please go away and bother Intel instead. :) I am a dev myself, and I know how frustrating dealing with a problem like this can be. However, many other games have had to deal with Intel's crap as well, and have provided their customers with patches that either "dumb down" the graphics to deal with the problem, or provide some sort of workaround when they detect Intel chipset.
Those experiencing this problem are definitely not happy with Intel, but CCP's response so far has not been good either. That Intel chipset is getting to be very popular with laptops and some of the more "average consumer grade" PC's so you are denying Eve to those people. My own interest is that I have three laptops in my house that cannot use Eve because of this problem... which I wanted to do when winding down for the night or watching a movie... etc.
I'm sure the devs are already aware of the details, but many affected by this, just maybe not current subscribers once they experience the problem. Check the details on my recent petition, and see a small sampling of postings here:

Performance issue:
Interpret my mouse-click or button-mash based on the information I'm using to decide what to click on.
IOTW, don't stealth-update the UI display right after I click but before you process my click location.
This issue affects many things (listed in order of severity) 1. Clicking on the correct targeted "thing" icon. 2. Having a module activate on the correct currently targetted "thing" icon. 3. Correct clicking on the overview (workaroundable, I know, I mash ctrl all the time) 4. Clicking on the correct name in local in a busy or rapidly changing local list. 5. Right-Clicking on the correct name in rapidly changing station lists (to trade)
Justification:
This is not just a timing issue, it happens too regularly and is easily reproduce-able in stations like Jita or Amarr, or when shooting & salvaging in a mission at the same time. Someone decided to update the client status after gathering input but before processing input. This is silly.
This leads to mis-targeting in the case of #1. I have neuted a fleet-mate I was also repping when a target died in an RRBS fleet. I have blown up wrecks when intending to shoot rats. I have a devil of a time trying to trade with my alts in Amarr or Jita.
Honestly, I made the decision to target/click/fire/neut/rep/trade/whatever based on the information I'm seeing just prior to the input - why update the UI after my click but before interpreting it?
Thank you! |

When flying logistics, I often find myself untargeting several ships at once to free up some room, but there's a slight delay between when I Ctrl+Shift+Click on a target and when that target actually disappears, presumably because it's waiting for a response from the server confirming the action. Because of this, I have to stop every couple seconds and wait for the client to catch up (and make sure it registered all my clicks correctly).
It would be great if the client would show some kind of immediate feedback while it waits for the server, such as dimming the targets to 40% opacity or so. |

the single thing that I have struggled to understand most in my entire eve career (10 years) is the overview. I mostly manage by using luck, guesses and a healthy amount of voodoo to program it but dear god. Make an overview that is at least stable in its eccentrics.
Auto-reload even on grouped guns. If one crystal breaks on my rack of scorches I need to ungroup all guns and then I can't group them any more without unload them all. While I understand the need for breaking crystals there shouldn't be a need for breaking the group. Just a simple reload button to avoid all that hassle would be nice.
I never understood the fact that in the far future I need to bash on my scanner manually every second to scan the area around me. Make a scanner that can be A: automated and B: programmed. I'd say like the overview but god knows how that works. I think it isn't outside the realm of science fiction that spaceships can set-up a scanner to automatically scan for and detect certain classes of ships. an Alt here. just had a discussion with corpmates about allowing Caps back in hisec. Sounded good to me, and I had a thought on caps in hisec incursions. If a cap tries to jump into a hisec incursion system, let the gate not be able to handle a cap ship, only sub-cap. If a cap is docked in a station, when he/she tries to uncock, let it give some warnning such as the warning given to players when they try and access the door in CQ. If theres a Cap in system, undocked during an incursion, the drawbacks/penalties will be 50-100% stronger on any cap ships in the area, and bonuses given my caps will be severly cut down.
Just my idea I think would be fun! (excuse any typos, im too lazy to read over everything to spot them ) |

The in game browser seems to load really slow the first time it's opened. I haven't confirmed this happens to other players, but it happens to both clients on both computers. No matter what website I'm opening it takes like a minute for it to load first time you open it, from then on it's good till you close it again.

There's some other oddities about locking that are... well... odd. I have long wondered why CCP promotes button bashing for locking targets. Ship warps in, is invulnerable. Every one there begins spamming lock, more than likely making repeated calls to the server in the form of "Can I lock it yet?" "No." "Awwww" "Can I lock it yet?" Rather than this, would it not be better to queue everyone who clicks lock, have a paused status bar for locking the target, then when the server says "okay, you can lock it" just send that message out to everyone who otherwise would be spamming lock?
Secondly, and like unto the first point, spamming the lock button while jammed with ECM. Queue that *****.
Another is the "you can't lock because you just jumped into the system and you have to move your ship first" - so help me, jumping into crowded fights would probably improve if everyone could just start locking stuff rather than having to move first. Less calls to the server, more happy shooting people in the face time.
Yep, these are annoying waiting time type things that seem to me could have server performance improvements via really simple fixes. My two cents, having taken a programming class once and saying "I'm never doing that again." |

I apologize if these have been said, or if they are not exactly on-topic.
-Make module cycle time timers accurate, this has seriously degraded in the last 2 years, and it needs to be fixed. -Make overheating buttons easier to click. -Show a overload que, so you can see its going to overload on next cycle. -Any identical item grouping, not just weapons. -Be able to get to character selection without re-logging.
I think that's it off the top of my head, ill add more later if i think of anything else. "Love the Life you Live, Live the Life you Love" |

The situation: I am in windowed mode and the eve window is not the focus. I decide I want to do something in eve, something that needs a right click, like say set a sell order for an item. So I slide the mouse over and right click on the item.
And nothing happens.
I right click again. Nothing happens. Then I remember that to get focus first I got to left click, then right click.
I do that and I get focus, but no right click menu. I right click again, nothing happens.
What makes it work is first left click somewhere in the eve window, then move the mouse and right click where I want to. But for me that sequence is totally non-intuitive, and I am forever reflexively clicking clicking clicking in the client window to no effect.
What would be good is for right click to get focus just like left click, and for the right click action to happen with the first click. I know it can be done, because if the focus in on Firefox and I right click in Adobe Reader I get both focus and a right click menu. Works the other way too, and with mail, the finder...etc. Just not Eve.
MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.7
(For those who do not know what "right click" is on a MacBook: You put 2 fingers on the trackpad and click, or hold down the command key while clicking, or get a 2 button mouse.) CCP employees should never proclaim a feature to be awesome. Only subscribers should. Subscribers can never answer a question posed to CCP. Only CCP can. |

I don't know if your team is responsible for this problem but here it is.
I recently purchased a GTX570 and I can play all my games for hours (Assassin's Creed II, Call of Duty, Shogun 2, Crysis 2, Mass Effect 2...) and the video card will remain below 55 celcius. However in Eve we have a new shiny carbon graphic engine that makes the video card spike at 59 celcius (and climbing) after 5 min of walking in an empty captain quarter... if you want to do more stuff with that technology, you'll shoot yourself in the foot. |

The drone window disappears and reappears when drones are deployed, and introduces a few seconds of lag when it does.
One improvement to that I'd like to see eventually is the dragging and dropping of drones into groups.

Jarnis McPieksu wrote:Make it so that building and inventing things are not such a clickfest.
A million times ^this. Hell, at the very least you can predict with 99.99999% accuracy that the user is going to select the first available build/invention slot in the station/array in which the selected BPC/O is stored, and thus be able to choose it for them automatically. This would also help with those annoying cases where I try to use a slot only to find out that someone else has taken it out from under me (because it takes like a minute for the screen to update times for everyone when other people start jobs).
Also, other stuff:
* Inventory window's search box should respond to the same search tags as the assets window (meta:, tech:, etc).
* There should be an option in the market screen settings to condense the Groups screen. When I use groups, I'm almost always doing so to get an easy view of all of the current prices for, say, P1/P2/P3/P4 materials for my beloved spreadsheets. It'd be a lot easier (and probably faster) to be able to see one list of the form:
Item Available Quantity Buy Price Buy Button View Details Button
rather than having to switch windows back and forth, scroll past all of the fluff descriptions, remember which item I stopped off at, etc.

Make clicking into Itemhangar focus the window again. My Itemhangar is merged in the Stationwindow/overview/thing. And if there is a window in front of it and I click in my itemhangar, nothing happens. I have to click somewhere near the Stationservice buttons in the "solid" area. That's annoying. |

Performance issue: Every time I sell an item the market window's contents are refreshed which can take quite some time - even if the item listing selected in the market window is not the item I just sold.
QoL issue: can't count how often I did accidentally set up sell orders for items I wanted to dump on buy orders because I didn't notice that my order creation window was in "Advanced" mode. One of the worst changes during the last year.
QoL issue: as we all know that market bots are hugely overhyped and probably don't exist at all, the "you are going too fast" window that pops up every time I sell mission loot/salvage should not really be necessary. Having to wait several seconds every few items/stacks before being able to sell more is extremely annoying. |

This here is a hard one although its not exactly performance but more like ease of access:
When you run a trading business and you have a ton of sellorders, you can only notice an item got sold out by looking at the number of free orders you can have and then you need to go through all your items and check which one got sold out. make it someway so you can easily see which item got sold out. Try going through 300 orders, you'll go nuts after some time. already hard to keep them up to date so you are first tbh... |

Two performance issues come to mind:
1 - Save 30 bookmarks to your hangar, can, ship cargo. now close the window! good, now open it and go make coffee, you have 3 minutes of free time to kill before that window shows its contents AGAIN! Any operation like copy and delete will also take some time...
2 - Open the planet view to do some PI. count to 10, slowly... its open!
