I like that super miner that was just released. How about creating something simular for use in empire? with simular features that the superminer has minus the cloan vat thing. Make it about the same size as a freighter.

I think the term "Super-Miner" implies you don't have much of an idea what that ship is all about. It really doens't have a purpose in empire, with the exception of the leadership bonueses, and the capital tractor. The ore compression means little, when there are refineries in nearly every system in empire.
I DO agree that there needs to be a smaller, mining director ship. but the hauling/compression roles are useless for empire, as is the jump drive.

Where is the balance in this idea at all? Where is the constructive reasoning?

Edited by: Kempeth on 11/09/2007 09:04:34 Empire does not need a bigger mining ship. And the Rorqual is not a mining ship like already stated above...
What I could picture though would be a smaller and limited variant to the Rorqual (like there is a smaller and a bigger variant to the carriers).
* Support for Mining Foreman Modules * Support for larger Tractor beams * Nice drone bay * Maybe remote rep/boost capabilities & bonus * Either a good cargo bay to serve as transport buffer or the possibility to use more than 5 drones... (Just make sure it's not an drone afk miner)
EDIT: right now Mining Directors either use a Battlecruiser (highsec) or a carrier/mothership (lowsec). I could see it as a specialized highsec mining director ship with some drones capabilities reminiscent to carriers but with a clear nerf compared to them so they don't become too powerful... ---------------------------------------------- The glass is neither half full nor half empty. It's just twice as big as it need to be... |
