Could someone please post a decent setup for an Absolution that primarily does mission running? I currently have the skills to fly one, but not the ISK to buy it. That will change over the next few days and I want to be ready when it happens.

There probably are threads on this in the ship setups forum, and probably some in this forum if you search or go through a few (dozen) pages, but I'll save you some time as I'm feeling nice:
Use heavy beam lasers, T2 if/when you can (or faction if that's your thing!). The absolution is too slow for pulses.
Mid slots: Afterburner, web, cap recharger II. Pretty simple. If you're sure you won't need the web then a tracking comp won't go amiss, extra range never hurts.
Lows: Many people use dual reps, I've never got on with that, but I do have a Corpum A-Type med repper (worth around 300m), there are cheaper faction reppers available. 3 or 4 hardeners depending on mission, t2 or faction really helps, especially if you only fit 1 repper. If your cap skills aren't quite there then fit a cap power relay, else just fill any remaining slots with heat sinks.
Rigs: I use capacitor control circuits. Well worth it, you won't get many heat sinks on if you leave these off!

Mine is more expensive than required, but it boosts the efficiency.
6x Heavy Beam II 1x Arbalest Heavy Missile Launcher
1x Republic Fleet 10mn Afterburner 1x Dark Blood Stasis Webifier 1x Cap Recharger II
2x 'Meditation' Armor reps 2x Dark Blood Energized Adapative Nano Membranes 1x Dark Blood Energized Thermic Membrane 2x Dark Blood Capacitor Power Relay
Rigs 1x Capacitor Control Circuit I 1x Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Change the missile ammo and drones depending on the mission. Hardeners don't really have to be swapped as you have pretty decent blanket resists, but if the mission is particularly difficult there is room in CPU, grid, and cap usage for actives.
Take note, this ship is simply terrible against Angels. Yes you can tank them for an eternity and a half, but you've only got an unbonused heavy launcher and 25m3 drone bay for explosive damage. You will spend a very long time pounding on Angel BSs. I love my Absolution, but unless you're fighting Sansha's, Bloods, or Drones, it's an exercise in patience to finish. ----------------

Tbh with that setup it must be an excercise in patience even against the correctÖ enemies... For anything remotely resembling efficiency (kinda hard in an Abso in the first place compared to say an Abaddon) you want at least two HS. And ditch the webber in favor of a tracking comp, kill frigs on approach and the one or two that live to orbit can be dealt with by drones.
There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Scorpion There is no 'e' in Caldari There is no makeup in rogue drones |

High 6x Heavy Beam Laser II 1x Small Tractor Beam/or whatever floats yer boat
Med 3x Cap Recharger II
Low 2x Medium Armor Repairer II 2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1x Damage Control II 1x Armor Thermic Hardener II 1x Capacitor Power Relay II
Rigs 1x Capacitor Control Circuit I 1x Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Drones 5x light t2 drones
For me, i can run the tank and lasers forever on passive recharge, and tank 600+ DPS with it. Might even be good enough to do some level 4's, although you'll be wanting for more damage - At least you don't have to worry about dying anytime soon.

Mine is, perhaps, somewhat overtanked, but I loaded my head with implants to help compensate a little, so I can live with it. ----------------

Works way better than all these cookie-cutter noobish setups with CCC and other crap. ---

Thing is that does NOT compensate unless you assume that proper gank setups do NOT use implants (which they should do of course). No HS rather than 2 HS is missing out on ~40% extra damage no matter what. Sure you can live with it but why would you?

Notice I said a little, not completely. Furthermore, the implants are rather expensive, so not everyone would have all of them. Finally, there are missions that have required a dual-rep permatank that heavy, and in my mind it's safer to just go with the same tank setup than forget to switch from gank and possibly warp into the middle of WC with a pair of heat sinks that cripple my ability to withstand the damage. Me being me I am extremely absent minded, so I'm willing to accept a slower setup that allows the ship to survive despite myself. ----------------

Well okay that is a good point. Paying attention to do stuff better is half the fun in gaming for me, but I guess people also play exactly to NOT pay too much attention...
